Food was just okay, unsure if I had high expectations for a Michelin restaurant. Service was average, felt rushed and our server didn't explain much of the food items as we were first time there, he just told us to get one dish from the appetizer, salad, main and dessert. Will I go back? Probably no. There's so many other restaurants better than them if you say it's Michelin restaurant.
Quetzal is always an outstanding experience. The service is warm and attentive with a relaxed vibe that makes you feel at home. All of the food and drinks are amazing, but my top picks are the Newfoundland scallops, pork secreto with tortillas, tlayuda, and tres leches. Book the chef's counter if you can, it's really cool watching the team cook over an open fire.
Incredible food and excellent, attentive service. We did the tasting menu and it was fantastic. The scallops and beef tartare were favourites. Loved sitting at the Chef's Table! We'll be back.
Absolutely phenomenal. Not only the best food I've ever had but the service was amazing. They would even fold my napkin every time I got up to use the washroom. We got the curated menu and they explained what every dish was. An outstanding experience.
Incredible, flavorful menu. Amazing, thoughtful service. On the pricier side but definitely worth the experience!
The visit was worth it. We were received promptly and shown to our table. Service was attentive and excellent. The sommelier was very helpful and kind. We had the tasting menu and every course was full of flavour and beautiful. We sat a little far from the chefs who worked in our sight, they never chatted or talked but were so caught up in what they were doing, it was fascinating to watch them. I loved the experience and would visit again and again.

Food was very average, there seemed to be a lot missing from each dish, and ordered two dishes from each section of the menu. The flavours didn’t reflect authentic Mexican dishes and the atmosphere was very noisy and rushed. The manager was extremely rude and unhelpful, ruining any leftover positivity from the meal. Takes a lot for me to write a review, not at all what you expect from a Michelin star.

The food was completely average in taste, the taco shells were so tough I couldn’t cut through them with a serrated knife, presentation was good however. Service by the waiters was great however when speaking to the manager he was completely unprofessional and unhelpful, atmosphere was nice however we were placed under a speaker and couldn’t hear a single word between me and my colleague, and by extension the waiters. When considering this restaurant we were drawn in by the star and we expected the quality associated with one, this was not it. Thoroughly underwhelming.

Incredible food and warm atmosphere. We sat at the bar and were served by Cris, one of the bartenders. He really made our experience that much more fun and interesting. The off menu / improvised cocktails that he whipped up for us were impressive, delicious, and paired so well with our food. 10/10 would return and sit at the bar for more adventures!

Quetzal deserves all the hype. The flavours were absolutely delicious, the service was so attentive and the ambience was thrilling. We sat at the chef’s table and had a front row view to the “dance of the kitchen”. We started our meal with the silkil pal - refreshing and a burst of flavour. Our favourite bites were the empanada oaxaquena and memela - masterpieces in taste and texture. But the true MVP of the night were the desserts. In particular, the spiced mexican chocolate - airy mouse, crunchy toffee and pops of acidity and sweetness from the passion fruit. Booking our next reservation now !

good vibes
Came back here after trying their tasting menu a while back. This time we ordered à la carte and weren’t disappointed.
We had a scallop ceviche each and the amount of scallops inside was great. The bone marrow and shrimp came with tortillas and was delicious but overall wasn’t as exciting as the other dishes. The same can be said about the octopus dish, but the tentacle portions were super meaty. Loved the crisp on the end pieces.
Once again, the mushroom and shishito was our favourite dish - beautiful blend of flavours. The Al pastor was also a favourite with melt in your mouth slices of meat - we ordered tortillas to go with this dish too.
Service was amazing as usual!
Excited to come back to try dishes we haven’t chosen yet.

Always a great experience at Quetzal. Each dish has a unique flavour, the smell in the restaurant is intoxicating. One comment is don't wear a shirt you don't want to smell like smoke!
