Such an amazing experience! We had Ray as our server and he was absolutely fantastic! The emotional damage drink was so delicious! We got the duck and it is definitely the best duck in the city!! The tartare was by far the best I've ever had! 10/10 recommend! Found our new favourite date spot!

Had a lovely experience at R&D for a birthday. Service was attentive and fast. Servers were extremely knowledgeable on food and even went into details on the preparation of the dishes. Ambiance is lively and quite loud but didn't take away from the experience. My only critique is that the peckin duck came out cold. It was very savoury and perfectly cooked however really did wish that for $120 the duck would've been warmer.

This was a wonderful meal shared with two friends one from NYC and one from San Francisco wonderful shared plates the best shrimp toast ever really good spring rolls Good desserts ice creams and toffee pudding Friendly service a great meal

This was our second visit and it was much easier navigating the menu. As it was just the two of us and we found it's better to sample more variety from the "dim sum" section vs splitting something from the "large" section. More variety! Groups of 4-6 would have an advantage to try more from the "large" section. Highlights were the CSB, Kalbi Beef Bao and the Crispy Squid. I would return just to demolish as many of the Kalbi Beef Baos as I could. Burdock Rice Lager is the perfect match for the fare. Service is exceptional: pleasant, knowledgeable, quick, and efficient. The staff work as a team and are absolutely delightful. Cocktails were good. My companion's Plum Royale was refreshing while I didn't care much for my Shibuya Street. I tend to migrate to Nigroni/Manhattan-esque apéritifs, but this was a bit on the sweet side for me. I'll stick to the Emotional Damage :). Will return. Will bring friends. Will bring family.

I had a really enjoyable dinner here. The food was a definite highlight! We opted for a selection of sharable dishes, which gave us a nice variety of flavors and textures opposed to getting the duck as we were only a party size of 2.Here's what we had:Char Siu BauPopcorn shrimpShrimp ToastBeef TartareGRANDPA’S FUN GUOFinally our star of the meal was the WOK LOBSTER, I thoroughly enjoyed that dish. Our only slight disappointment was that our drinks were delayed, arriving only with our third dish. It could be that the restaurant was particularly busy, but the timing did throw off the flow a bit.Overall, we had a great dining experience. Despite the minor service issue, we still enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. While we skipped the duck this time (it probably would have been too much for two!), we'd definitely return to try it with a larger group.

Truly a fantastic place for Chinese-fusion cuisine, slightly pricey but definitely worth it. The staff is attentive, and the atmosphere is truly modern and friendly.

The food was somewhat disappointing. We shared several plates amongst three people but it seemed that the texture and taste of the food was similar between different dishes. The presentation of the food was not very creative. We did not find that it was very good value overall. The service was very good.

Dinner at R&D was incredible! The service was great, the food was phenomenal and the atmosphere was very nice. Every dish we ordered was delicious and the servers even tell you a little bit about each dish, which was neat. Highly enjoyed my time here and would definitely eat here again!

The hostess took quite some time to greet us upon arrival. Pre booking a duck in open table is not easy nor does it have a pop up so we didn't know we had to pre book on top of the reso. Fried rice was delicious. Didn't care for the fried squid

The crispy squid and cocktails were the star of the show. Service is good but the R&D fried rice took way too long to come out.Shrimp toast was was too rich/oily, and the siu mai wasn't what we'd expected. The fun guo was a bit disappointing on both taste and presentation when you consider the price tag of $25 for 3 steamed dumplings. The only cocktail I didn't enjoy was the lavender haze. It was very bitter and tasted like soap. All in all, we spent about $326.The service was excellent and very friendly, which is the majority of these stars.

I was expecting more from this restaurant - maybe that was my mistake. I was expecting the service to be more curated and professional and that dining would be more of an experience. It was a special occasion and we said we weren't in a rush. The cocktails were great. We ordered a number of smaller plates and pre-ordered a peking duck. The small plates just started arriving one after the other so that we had so many all at once like we were actually at dim sum. The duck was good, the bao served with it instead of traditional pancakes was good, but not enough provided and the cucumber plate was tiny and inadequate. No one ever tried to serve us more drinks. I thought some of the small dim sum items and medium plates were good. I would come for drinks and a few small plates but no more.

Very good atmosphere to come and chill. The food is top notch as expected with the Michelin nood. The servers are nice and helpful. I recommend the duck just remember to order it ahead. The duck is very juicy and skin is very crisp.Wheelchair accessibility: There is an elevator to help people up the 3 steps at the entrance and the rest of the restaurant is easy to navigate.

Outstanding meal! The chef and all of the staff couldn't have been more personable and friendly. And the food was fantastic. Definitely a place that will become a regular spot for our family.

Despite the Masterchef fame, our experience here was disappointing. Dim sum dishes were expensive but not particularly remarkable. The green bean dish was drowned in sauce. I was looking forward to the mushroom fried rice but it turned out to be very oily and had a strange flavour. The overall atmosphere was not very comfortable, as it was loud and tables were placed closed together.
