This is not rain sushi. They have not updated the picture but they sure have updated the place. It’s poke bowl something. I think they should have the photo and description updated as even when you call the number and ask if this is a sushi place they reply no.

Used to LOVE rain, it was our go too. Now that ownership changed the sushi just isn’t good anymore. The same deals are gone, the rice is poorly seasoned and hot, the vegetables are too thick, and it just falls apart! It’s too bad that a local place went down hill because of new owners.

We used to LOVE Rain sushi and had been going for years until recently, the quality has been terrible. They seem to have new ownership and it shows. Our last 2 orders were priced wrong, our sushi platter came with hot rice both times, hot rice and cold fish made for an entire inedible meal, the miso soup had no taste and the gyoza was soggy. Sadly will not be ordering again

This used to be my favourite sushi place in the neighbourhood, by far, but the last two times I have gotten take out here it has been really disappointing. I notice that they have a new menu with "Ono Poke" on it, so I don't know if there's new ownership, if they're expanding, or if they're hosting a ghost kitchen. Either way the dip in quality correlates with the arrival of the new poke bowls and sushi burritos. The fish isn't as fresh, and overall there just doesn't seem to be the same level of care being put into all the little details (rice tastes different, vegetables in the rolls are big chunks, things are missing from the orders, etc.).My partner and I thought we'd give them a second chance after the first disappointing order, but this second one was even more disappointing. I hope things change for the better, but at this point I won't be going back. Really disappointing because I loved their sushi!

Rain was our ‘go-to’ sushi place. A little pricier than some, but it had the quality to make it worth the price. Unfortunately the quality has gone way down with new ownership (as I’ve just learned today), while prices are still at the prior high levels. Nothing horrible to report, just non-spicy “spicy” rolls, bland taste, lack of fresh ingredients (less avocado, etc.). I’ll be looking for another sushi joint given the high price-to-quality ratio.

This place seems to share a business with Ono Poke Bowl but still has the name Rain Sushi and sells items from their old menu. We wanted to try the Poke Bowls and were told to wait 15 minutes as they are very busy (Thursday Night). We waited around 20 minutes to get our food. The poke bowls are delicious. Service was a bit slow.

First time trying out the poke bowls and they were awesome, fresh, and healthy. Highly recommend Big island and torched salmon.

Been coming here for a few months now. Sushi is always made well and fresh. Their poke bowls are great too. Staff is very friendly also. Love Rain Sushi

It was Wednesday afternoon I went for a walk with my best pal and was feeling sushi. I remember ordering a bunch in the past for an mothers day event, I think this was before Covid started. This time around I went and order sushi combo B which consist of whatever is shown in the image which I am quite sure was fresh sushi with flame broil salmon, and dragon roll I believe. Was good, just wish I had a bit more as I had to share it with my best pal. You'd probably be wondering who my best pal is, well he is my pal Teddy who is a dog who enjoys my company and loves sushi.

Used to love this place. It used to be our go-to for sushi. But we ordered today and it was not the same. They forgot the soup, the tempura was just soggy, and the sushi combo was just lackluster and without the usual variety (see picture). Not sure if they changed ownership or something, but not the same. Very disappointed. Will not be ordering again.

I never ate here before the pandemic so I have only had take out. I found everything to be very good and fresh. It isn't fancy stuff but it's tasty.I have only been disappointed once because instead of picking it up myself (it was a very cold day) I used a delivery app and it arrived not quite at the ideal temperature. I don't think this was their fault but the fault of the app. I think the drivers were having a busy evening? They pack the food up for the delivery in such a way that you'd notice tampering so thats a nice touch.

Hands down, without question THE BEST sashimi I have had in this city. I've only ever ordered here for take out, and every time they exceed expectations. This is now our go-to place!

Loved this place back when in person dining was an option and the sushi was great. However, we ordered catering later and the sushi tasted stale and prepared over a day ago. We expected better consistency and have ordered sushi elsewhere.

Amazing price for the sushi! Not the highest quality of fish but you pay for what you get. Still super yummy and the staff is a nice and friendly!

I ordered from Rain Sushi via SkipTheDishes for dinner. If it's value for the money and freshness that you're after then Rain Sushi wins hands down. The Sushi quantity and sizes were very generous and the fish was fresh. On the other hand if you are after well prepared authentic sushi, then its not on par with many other sushi places I have tried. It's disappointing when the sushi rice falls apart while trying to pick up the sushi and the Hamachi (torched) was doused with sauce masking the taste. On the plus side there is no way anyone can be left hungry with the portion sizes that Rain Sushi provides.
