An oasis in the ever-declining Queen West neighbourhood.

The udon here is delicious and authentic, just like in Japan. The staff are friendly, and although the restaurant is a bit small, I would still highly recommend it!

We got there around 5pm, there was no wait for us, however people who came after us had waits for up to 90mins+. I believe they don’t take reservations, so you just have to go in with luck or a back up plan. The menu has a variety of udons—as they specialize in that. I went safe with a chicken udon (chikara udon / $22), which was perfect. firstly, ghe the pricing, ghe serving sizes are huge. I went with a group size of 3 people and none of us were able to finish our meals despite how delicious they were! the udon had fresh udon, a flavourful yet classic broth, chicken and mochi which was similar to tteok. We sat at the bar seating and it completely added to the atmosphere, reminding me of my times in Japan. I definitely recommend! At the end you also get a frozen red grape as dessert which was delightful.

Definitely the best udon place in the city!
Usually a long line so I recommend going early (5pm ish).
My fav is the tantan udon although this would be closer to a ramen rather than udon.
The udon noodles are top notch, not just in the city but worldwide. Comparable to those in Japan. It’s legit.
10/10💋

Portions were filling and the broth was nice and flavorful. Not a huge fan of thick noodles but Raku was amazing. Tempura and karaage was also crunchy. Would definitely recommend

My favourite udon place in town….but why are you guys charging extra for vegetarian broth now😭
Great food and service. The restaurant is cute but a little on the smaller end, however on a Friday night the wait time was not bad at all.

Food was great and the service was excellent, but it feels a little overpriced.

good, refreshing cold mushroom udon, and fried chicken as appetizer. Chicken is slightly burnt. Udon source is lighter than expected.

Restaurantji Recommends
The place is gorgeous and super aesthetic but the food was so underwhelming. I really enjoyed the texture of the udons but that was it. The broth was super plain and there were so little toppings to make up for the simple broth. I wouldn’t say the food was necessarily bad, but really overpriced.

The hand pulled udon noodles were fantastic, perfectly chewy and great at soaking up the rich broth. The meat was also tender and flavourful. My only note is that the broth for the niku udon was a touch saltier than I expected, but still tasty. Don’t miss the yaki nasu (grilled eggplant) appetizer! The combination of eggplant and pork on top was so refreshing, acting like a palate cleanser between bites.
