Gyokai Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen was good but the seafood flavour was overpowering while the Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen was flavourless. I also found it odd that they don't accept cash and that the ramen didn't come with an egg. All the other ramen places I've been to included at least one half of an egg or a full egg that was already cut in half.

Great place for your ramen fix. Portions are generous and flavourful. If you are addicted, they offer frozen ramen which you can just do at home. All you have to do is put it in a pot and you're having quality ramen at home!
Definitely will come back again.

This restaurant was hard to find and very busy on a Friday night, despite service being very quick and efficient. I had a great dinner here with a friend; the ramen tasted great and was priced very decently. I was a little shocked when I realized that they didn't ask for the type of noodle we want, after I saw that our two bowls had different noodles. We were seated and out within 30 minutes, which was pleasantly surprising since we waited for almost an hour before that. Unfortunately, they weren't able to make a seating accommodation for our party after one of our friends wanted to join us, so we had to tell that friend to find food elsewhere. Otherwise, the ambiance in this restaurant is very nice and lively. I would definitely come back to try their other menu items.
Edit: I came here a second time and I tried their spicy ramen, which was delicious! The broth was salty and rich, with the perfect faint amount of spice. I do wish the noodles came with an egg by default, given their price. Overall, I had a great experience dining here again, and I'll be back for sure!

Best ramen we’ve ever had in Toronto! The broth tasted authentic and legit. It’s a real hidden gem.

I eat a lot of Ramen, and WOW this place nailed it.
Had the shio Tonkotsu and it packs a lot more umami than my standard place, really kicks you in the teeth, I loved it.
The vibe is really energetic and casual, much like another favorite of mine : Omasake house. So if you're looking for that comfy-yet-brisk Japanese diner vibe, you'll find it here.
Location is weird, tucked in a back alley, but so convenient 60 seconds from the subway station.

I was excited to come back to Ramen Raijin since I had a good experience here in the past, but this visit was pretty underwhelming. The broth, noodles, and toppings were all just okay — nothing really stood out this time. The karaage was fine, and the portion size was decent.
Waited about 20 minutes to be seated, and the service was just okay. Without paying extra for toppings like the egg and pork, the ramen feels quite empty.
Overall, it’s a decent option if you’re in the area and craving ramen, but not one I’d go out of my way for.

First off, I am not comfortable at giving a restaurant a low score especially when the restaurant is full. Unfortunately, the overall experience was lacking.
The location is not easy to find when you are traveling from Yonge St. The street is one street north of Wellesley but connected to a short street travelling north west of Yonge.
The restaurants decor looks like it was hastily renovated. No atmosphere what so ever.
I ordered the yuzu shio ramen which did not come with an egg at the base price. Maybe ok for those that would typically prefer no egg. The ramen came with chicken cha-shu, bamboo shoots, chili threads, chopped white onion and green onion.
Overall I found the flavour thin and unappealing. The noodles were firm and tasty though. The thinly sliced chilli pepper reminded me of saffron but no where near as flavourful as I would have expected. The chilli was too thin and only provided visual appeal.
A good number of staff working but the service was slow and disorganized. No specific server assigned. One key feature I recognized was that most of the tables were not cleared until after payment was completed.
In the end, I would say I will have to try this location again down the road before I would recommend this restaurant or not. For now, I can say I was not impressed in any way.

Ramen Raijin delivers solid authentic bowls with rich broth and quality noodles, but the hype builds expectations higher than what you’ll actually get for the premium price. Small meat portions, and the service is dependent on how you look. We were given a rude and rushed experience compared to our neighbours.

Service & Atmosphere: A+ — staff were great and the vibe was really welcoming.
Food: Unfortunately, it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I tried the curry rice and the KARAIJIRO ramen.
The curry tasted a bit too similar to the boxed version you can find at the supermarket — not much depth of flavor. The ramen also wasn’t what I expected; it felt more like udon, and the broth was quite oily, which made it hard to enjoy. It came with one slice of chashu, a few pieces of pork, and lots of bean sprouts.
I probably wouldn’t order that ramen again, but thankfully it’s a limited item. Still, service and atmosphere were excellent, so I’d be open to trying other dishes next time.

Very authentic like Japanese ramen in a tucked in corner of Toronto! The service is lovely as they greet you right from entry and serve quicky (we were served within 10m of sitting/ordering) but the place can get quite crowded with lineups so I reccomend booking a reservation if possible! Most tables seat 2-4 but there is a large centre table that seats mixed parties (or 1 big one).
This is my go to ramen place in Toronto. The appetizers are a bit small but the ramen bowls (one size) are more than enough. I also enjoy their unique drinks (I have had the yuzu highball and calpico high). Would highly recommend!

I’ve been coming and known Raijin for more than a decade and this place never disappoints. The ramen is consistently rich, flavorful, and comforting…just the way it’s always been. The broth has that perfect depth of flavor, the noodles are cooked to perfection, and every bowl feels made with care. It’s rare to find a spot that stays this authentic and delicious over the years. Truly one of my all-time favorites and still my go-to for great ramen! 😋😌

Delicious ramen spot, best shared with friends! Highly recommend making a reservation for faster seating, that way you don't need to join the wait line! The staff was friendly and the food was delicious! I especially loved that I could enjoy a bowl of ramen + a mini curry & rice as part of a combo. The food is well portioned, so I left feeling full and satisfied. Thanks for a lovely night!
