Lovely addition to the neighborhood! The kemia was delicious, especially the carrots, but it could've used a couple more baghrir because we ran out before we ran out of dips. The couscous was good and nicely spiced. I do wish the merguez had a bit more of a kick to it. The tajine was also very good. The bed of onions it sat on was delightful. The flan was good but the true star of the dessert menu is the Paris-Tangiers for me. What an amazing twist on a Paris-Brest đ so DELICIOUS! I'll definitely be visiting again to try their brunch menu.

The service and atmosphere wasn't bad. but the portion of the food was really disappointing for the price. It's 35 dollar for the very little meat and lots of couscous. I felt so full with the carb but no enough protein. The taste was okay. nothing exceptional though. I wouldn't go back.

This French Moroccan restaurant is located in one of my favourite Toronto neighborhoods, Cabbagetown.
A friend and I visited for dinner on a pleasant winter evening and was immediately drawn to the bright, airy space that gives off a gentle French bistro feel. Along with their menu, they also offer pastries and baked goods that look inviting.
The service was excellent, and the staff were warm and attentive. I would rate the service and team 9 out of 10.
We ordered the chicken couscous and the vegetable couscous. Portions were generous and the chicken was well cooked. The menu described the dish as a chicken leg, though it was actually a thigh. It was enough for me, though some diners may expect otherwise. The vegetables were a bit underwhelming and could use more depth of flavour. I felt the dishes would benefit from the warm, aromatic spices that define Moroccan cuisine, such as cumin, coriander, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, and a touch of cayenne. I also ordered a latte, which was superbly crafted.
I struggled with how to rate the food because I genuinely loved the space and the service. With some hesitation, I would give the food a 5 out of 10.
Overall, it was still a good experience, and I would rate it 7 out of 10. I truly hope they focus a little more on the flavours because they have everything else needed to stand out as a memorable culinary destination.

What a yummy dinner! Our beef and chicken couscous were so flavourful and perfectly seasoned. We were very full after dinner so we took dessert to go. The desserts we had (flan & Paris-tangier) were unbelievably good and very generous portions. We ate half last night and the rest was just as good this morning with coffee. Thank you! This is such a great addition to the neighbourhood.

Had dinner with a couple friends here last night.
We grabbed the Kemia to share which was good. The baghrir (Moroccan pancake) themselves were good to the point that you may want to have them on their own without the dips and ask for some extra bread for the dips. If I were to pick a favorite off the dips served it would be the eggplant for me but all three were good.
Two of us order the Tajine (including myself) and another ordered the Poulet Frites.
The tajine itself was excellent, every bite was delicious. I have to admit that the gratin itâs served with lacked in comparison but the bread that itâs served with had the perfect texture and pillowy-ness to have along with the tajine.
While I didnât get to try the poulet, I did steal a few fries, those were really good too, perfectly salted and fried, not too crispy but not too soft/soggy either.
For dessert we decided to split 3 items amongst the 3 of us: the chocolate flan (which our server claimed as his favorite), hazelnut flan and Mille Feuille (an item not found on the menu being served last night).
A word to the wise here, the dessert portions are substantial and I would say you should get 1 for every 2 people at the table rounded up.
All three were great and we had a hard time picking favorites. While I liked the initial bite of the chocolate flan better the that of the hazelnut, the richness of the chocolate gets heavy fast making it a difficult option for me to consider having by myself. The hazelnut on the other hand was also quite good but less rich in initial burst of flavor but with a pleasant after taste, much more palatable in the quantity served. The Mille Feuille was also all around a great dish with both the pastry and crème being delicious and well executed, though it does make for a bit of messy dish as the pastry cracks and scatters while you try to eat it.
We finished our meals with some wonderful Moroccan mint tea to warm up before heading home in the cold November air.
Overall the service was quite good, though they did forget our Kemia before bringing out our mains, it was a busy night and the Kemia came out a few minutes after our mains so no harm there really. All the staff seem to speak French, one of my friends at the table being from France spent the night speaking to them en francais.
The restaurant itself is quite small with fairly limited seating so I was surprised when I managed to get a last minute reservation yesterday but itâs also quite cute and comfortable, homey even.
Needless to say, all of us are hoping to be back for both brunch and dinner to try more of their menu.

The food, the atmosphere, and the serviceâeverything was impeccable! It felt like home eating there; I'm definitely coming back next time I visit Toronto! Wafa and the team were aux petits soins! This is definitely one of the tastier Moroccan restaurants I have tried abroad.

Its not a place for south asian palettes. I wonât say the food wasnât good because clearly I was not the target demographic but I didnât not enjoy it at all. The people were lovely, its just the food was not what I hoped it would be.

Rayah is a gem. I went last week with my parents and we were blown away. The owners are amazing, genuinely warm and welcoming, and the service was spot-on from start to finish.
Every server was smiling, kind, and attentive. The food was exquisite; every bite tasted like home. The decor is beautifully authentic, making the whole meal feel immersive.
Rayah isnât just dinner, itâs an experience, and one weâll happily repeat again and again.
