Red Cranberries Restaurant

A very rustic and 90s diner feel. Quite refreshing compared to all the minimalist architecture restaurants in Toronto. Wooden furniture and old school ambiance. Meals are pretty affordable. The ultimate combo was just $18.

A group of 7 of us booked and went for Cranberries annual Christmas dinner (they have at least 3 sittings). The staff were attentive, helpful and engaging. The food was plentiful, home cooking, enjoyed by all. This may not be a Michelin 5 star restaurant, but they gave their all, it was excellent value for money. The only sad note was the number of last minute cancellations they had to endure (the flu has ticked up this season). One can see why many restaurants ask for credit card info when one makes reservations and state upfront that last minute cancellations may be billed. I would not blame Cranberries if they had to initiate this practice. Thank you to Cranberries and staff for a most enjoyable Christmas Feast!

So cozy and lovely people. We come here every year for Christmas dinner as well and it is well timed with their seatings and absolutely delicious.

I went for dinner but the place was cold so I ordered a coffle. I finished the coffee and left a coffle mug on the opposite site for politely requesting refill. There were 2 servers on duty and only 3 table. I waited more than 30 minutes not a single acknowledgement from both of the waiter on duty. I have been going to many years here. Nina and other waiters were good in the past. The owner Siva is good chef and I go there to support the local business but I am terribly disappointed with the service I received today and rudeness from this Asian server. I am not coming back anymore.

I went to the store to pick up my order and the cashier was rude. He said he was ‘not interested’ and spoke in an unprofessional way. This made me feel disrespectful

Delicious food!! I came here with my wife to celebrate our anniversary. We had the french onion soup, salad, roast pork, cranberry chicken, and the sticky pudding toffee.

They also have specials on different days of the week which we will be sure to come back to try including the Monday wing night.

During my last visit to Toronto, I came across this lovely Cabbagetown neighbourhood Family Restaurant.
The interior might suggest that time stood still here (which gives it a very special cozy atmosphere), but food and service were up to state.
I went there twice during my stay in town, once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both times the food was excellent, very large portions at an excellent price. The fish and chips were amazing. You can really taste that all things are being homemade by the kitchen staff.
Service was friendly, relaxed and professionell. Especially Paul made my visits very enjoyable with his attention to every customer and also his open and happy attitude (including a appropriate joke at a time).
Cranberries is definitely on my list to come back during my next visit to Toronto.
