I've been to rol san since I was young, I didn't go for an long time after they moved and I was really disappointed when I finally did.

Rol san used to specialize in traditional canton food, but after taking a look at their menu I couldn't find many dishes that they once had, like 白切鸡(canton steamed chicken). All their dishes were modified from Chinese dishes to American-Chinese inspired dishes.
Their beef stir-fried noodles didn't have much meat, it didn't have bean sprouts and was extremely saucy. All their dishes were saltier than usual.

Their dim sum is still standard, but the shrimp dumplings tasted like it came out of the freezer.

$263 for 7 people post-tip(tip was automatically included), $37 per person. Not cheap by any means, if you're looking for homey Chinese food I would not recommend it, if you enjoy American-inspired Chinese food I would recommend Panda Express, it has a lower price point.

Amazing food - but not the best service. Go there only for a quick in and out.

For fun, we only ordered dim sum we have never eaten before. As always, Rol San was a great experience. Their food is delicious, and their service has suddenly improved. The service was never bad, but it was never overly attentive or friendly. This time, we had so many people checking on us, and we got all the things we asked for without ever having to ask a second time. Surprisingly, the duck feet were delicious. They are served cold, and they are sour, spicy, and a little sweet. I would highly recommend them!

Came in for a single lunch stop. Ordered 2 items, one came quick; however the second one didn’t come. I asked where it was and was told the chit wasn’t attached to my order and they didn’t know.

The funny thing about eating on Spadina is if you are driving they are charging $3.50 per 1/2 hour, and when restaurants delay because of their own fault, they should be held accountable, because I know I have to pay my bill and my parking immediately and if I’m late I get a hefty fine.

Nonetheless, I really needed to eat; so I did take it late. They never offered any discount or thoughtful apology. Iv been here many time in the past and never had this type of service. Hope they read this and continue to aim for success.

Quality of food has plummeted. Shriveled up meat balls and cold dry selections. Like it was all microwaved from previous days leftovers. Used to be great. NOT RECOMMENDED

How would one not love rol san? We were a party of 3 and the bill was $166. In my opinion thats insanely jacked for dimsum. It should typically be around $80 for 3.

Excellent Dim Sum, open late. Order off menu, doesn't have the carts that come around.

Service TERRIBLE. Bill comes it’s automatically 15% gratuity and when I mention it’s not legal she gives me an evil look and says fine don’t pay it- then gives me a proper bill ( I ended up tipping a dollar) but what the heck Roll San?? I’ve been a customer since I was 7 years old coming with my family and this is the service? So disappointed.

I have been to this restaurant since I was 15 and still love to come by whenever we go to Toronto. From the deep fried taro to the eggplant dishes to the soups, the flavor are very consistent throughout the years. My compliments to the chefs.

The place was packed on a Saturday evening, which was a good sign. But the food here was extremely hit and miss (mostly a miss). A lot of our dishes were anywhere from mediocre to bad, with so many being drowned in sugary sauces. There's no way authentic Chinese dishes are drenched in syrup like what we had here. Disappointing. There are a lot better placed nearby.

Mandatory tipping.....no wonder why the service was mid. They cleaned my friends plate but the server didn't do my plate. It is like everything you need you have to ask. $1.50 fee for tea pp. I will prob just go to a diff place, this one is so-so
