I just had the beef brisket laksa soup. It was so bad I was compelled to write a review on the spot. The broth is so salty, it’s not edible. I had to add some bottled water to be bearable. The noodles were so soft that it was all broken. The worst part was the beef brisket, so tough to chew and if you swallowed it feels like I’ll choke. I usually enjoy their soup but this is the worst I’ve had.

Tasty and generous portions

Pretty decent food at a very reasonable price. Lots of different options for a quick lunch. Personally I prefer going later in the day for lunch, the end of day special starts at 1:30 and you get a premade container (which you can pick) for $8.99, this is a really good portion that I often cannot finish, most people would definitely be able to make 2 meals out of this. I can't say it is the highest quality food I've had but I work in the building and this is my favourite quick lunch option for a very reasonable price, especially if you go after 1:30pm

I’ve had their soup rice noodles plenty of times, but somehow never tried their salad bowls—until today!

A friend hyped it up a few weeks ago, so I went for it during my work lunch.
Three base options: quinoa, chickpeas, and mango (all packed with fresh veggies)—literally all my favorites.

I told the lady at the counter how much I loved their mango salad, and she was so happy she secretly added four extra slices for me!

Then you pick a carb (rice or noodles, thick or thin) and a protein—I went with beef. Tender, flavorful, and a huge portion (only downside: a bit salty).

The whole box was packed to the brim for just $12+ before tax.
Didn’t pace myself since I had other plans later—otherwise, I would’ve saved half for dinner.

Always thought it was ok but a little dirty. Now I see the staff cleaning the vent hoods, good! However standing on steam table without a cover (no food was there) is just gross. Wasn't cleaned after. Also love he put the paper towel in his waist band. Avoid

Decided to try Ruby Thai for a change. I ordered their Mango Salad. It only comes in 1 size, way too big, and instead of dressing it is served in a bath of sweet chili heat sauce. It was like eating spoonfulls of sweet chili heat. You couldn't taste the Mango at all. You could however taste the romaine lettuce because it was so bitter. Thanks but no thanks....will be sticking to Thai Island from now on.

I always go for the rice noodles. Here’s my recommendation: Guilin noodles, dan dan (minced pork) sauce, spicy soup. Extra egg, all vegetables.

This is one of my favourite lunch spots in the path. Very affordable ($12 to $13). If you’re back in the office 3 times or more per week, this is a great choice. If you come at 11:50, not a long line at all!

Good healthy food

The clear soup was watery, the egg noodles were undercooked, the Guilin rice noodles were overcooked, and the minced meat had a meaty smell

2023.09.22 There are options to order combos of pre-cooked items from their steam table or cook to order items. Their Thai Pad See Ew (with meat of your choice, bean sprouts and egg) is cooked to order in front of you. The noodles are cooked al dente and the beef slices are tender which is good. However, it is soggy from too much sauce, no charring on the noodles and no wok hei (smoky wok flavor). The color is monotonously brown and a bit unappetizing. It is also missing the crunchy texture of the traditionally used Chinese broccoli (Gai Lan) since they substitute it with bean sprouts. The taste is overly on the sweet side which might be great for those who have sweet tooth but might not be right for those who look for a balance savory umami taste.
2023.10.02 Pad Thai is probably the most popular made to order item at this outlet. The rice noodles are bouncy and chewy. There are bits of onions, bean sprouts, and green onions. It lacks the egg, dried shrimp, tofu and could use more of the bean sprouts for the crunch. The taste leans to the sour side instead of a balanced sour, sweet and salty. Too much of the sauce also makes the overall dish soggy.

The last three times I've gone there to get soup, they are out of ingredients. The soup itself is delicious but Ruby Thai should be mindful that at 1-1:30, people are still eating lunch. Otherwise they will lose business.

Was wondering why no one was ordering the cook to order, pad Thai and now I know. It's made with red sweet and sour sauce and was overly sweet. Portion was great but I wouldn't recommend this dish. Next time, I'll try the Thai pad sew which other people were ordering.
