An update on the Rudy A-frame sign caught my interest. The burger was a limited time offering ~ didn't have a name but did have a great photograph. Definitely piqued my interest and in I went. The photo seemed to depict a Rudy burger with a chicken tender on top between the buns.
I talked to the staffer and was told that it was breaded pork, not chicken. I sat down with a very nice sized burger and it was a delicious combination. Keep in mind ~ limited time offering.
I was so taken by Rudy's specialty burger that I popped back on Monday for the low-down !!! Apparently Rudy's co-founder Luke McCann is a HUGE John Candy fan. Just so happens, that this John Candy burger came out to pay homage to our Canadian comedy icon. Luke was smart to sync his short- term specialty burger release with TIFF - as the Candy documentary was being vetted.
This limited smash slash pork burger is GOLD !!!
Dear Mr. McCann,
You have very good taste in actors and obviously a keen business sense. Make The John Candy burger a mainstay please & I will eat it on planes, on trains, and in my automobile.

I’ve tried Rudy’s before when it was buy one get one free for the Rudy burger on uber eats. This time there was no deal and I forgot how thin the patties are. The price for one on uber eats is 9.99 a $1 more than what it is in store. The flavours are great but for the size u would say $5-$6 max for what you get would be more appropriate. I got mine lettuce wrapped so it was even smaller. The poutine was 8.99 for a really small size but I do think it’s fair because they use actual Quebec cheese. The flavours are there but I can get over spending $19 for a small poutine and a tiny burger lol.

Overrated and terrible. Way too expensive for small portion sizes. Lots of better places to eat.

Ordered a poutine from Rudy’s as I had been craving a authentic poutine. Cheese curds that don’t melt, darkish gravy, and crunchy fries. From the reviews and photos the poutine looked promising. I ordered on Uber Eats and asked for the cheese and gravy in the side because often times when ordering a poutine it arrives soggy. I’m happy to say the poutine was amazing! I love a poutine where the cheese curds don’t melt… that’s a real poutine 🤤. I’ll have to try their burgers next time!

Very good service. F2F ran out of space and they let me stay for a while to finish up my deck.

In a word: thin.
The fries are thin. The buns are thin. The patties are thin.
It all tastes good. Really good. The problem is really just the quantity. If you find yourself still feeling hungry after your dinner of burger & fries... that may be a touch damning.
If I stop in again and try it again, I'll update this to reflect.
Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. Major step to get in the door. Also, the washroom is in the basement.
