Safari's building and location may not be the obvious choice for a bar, but the team have created a great vibe with a warm welcome, great food and choice drinks l.
I wish my local had all of the attributes that Dan and his staff have created at Safari

Safari Bar has such a cute patio, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere. The service was excellent our server was super friendly, very cooperative, and even helped us pick out which pizza to try. Her recommendation was spot on because the pizza was absolutely delicious! Overall, great vibes, tasty food, and really warm service. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re in the area!

My partner and I joined two friends at their invitation last night for dinner at this never tried before restaurant. The pub is definitely a local spot, but was not busy, likely due to the fact it was a chilly evening. Despite the chill we sat on the patio, which was equipped with overhead warmers.
We all shared an order of Calamari fritti served with a jalapeno mayo. It tasted good and seemed well prepared for a pub, but nothing to write home about. Our dining partners shared a Tribal Salad and an order of Pub Style Fish and Chips. They had no complaints, nor did they have great compliments.
My partner and I shared a Safari Cesar and a Margherita pizza. The best thing about the Cesar Salad was that it had fresh Grana Padano cheese on it. Otherwise nothing remarkable.
However, the Margherita pizza was a disappointment. The crust was tough and cardboard-like, betraying that it came out of a box and prepared from frozen. The toppings were lifeless and equally flavorless.
The price point reflected the quality of the meal, so I cannot complain about that.
Summary
The Safari Bar and Grill is fine for an inexpensive bite to eat if you live in the area. It probably has a good vibe when it is busy. Don't come with great expectations of fresh, in house prepared food. It is more of a local Pub, and not a destination restaurant.

$32 for a pitcher of steam whistle is just ridiculous.

Pool tables, great cocktails and Playoff hockey! Go Oilers!
We had a great time this evening! Food was delicious and service was excellent. Our server Puja was wonderful, so kind and welcoming. The owner stopped to chat and check in with us; clearly a staff from the top down who puts a lot of care into what they're doing. New to the area and so glad to have found such a gem this close to home. Looking forward to our next visit!
I just feel like for the area it should be better. I ordered a pizza and I've had better frozen pizzas. The mussels were flavourless and weren't cleaned properly. The beer selection was very weak. The service was great, can't fault them for that, and the patio is very nice. But the food needs A LOT of work.
Overcooked lamb burger - a disaster will never return - no attention to any detail of this meal - not worth 26 - don't come often so now I know why -

wraps are 😋👌🏼
The strategy is a winning one. The owner hires the best kind of people who have fun while they're working hard just like him. A hands on kind of guy, he is well known to see to a guests needs personally. He and his people build a positive vibe every day that the customer can't get enough of. The food is terrific (But tasty enough where some of us eat it too fast) and the drinks are great. The only drawback is Avenue Road - a diabolical street that snakes up instead of in a straight line. I sometimes get lost on the way there or home. Dan, Alex, Griffin, Tabitha, Reese, Marites, Megan, Jordan et al make it a groovy hang particularly for watching the big game. Pool tables and ping pong available in the upstairs bar. Whilst there, please be respectful of staff and tip accordingly. Many are young and putting themselves through school.

You have to be a Canadian resident from Ontario to drink here according to the chap behind the bar. Dude wouldn’t take my Texas ID because quote “how am I supposed to memorize every ID”. Honestly all the other staff seemed very chill we they sat us down. Pretty sweet welcome home, took my service down the road where they were pumped to see a Texas ID.
My favourite place to get a good hamburger and spend a nice evening with friends or family. The beautiful patio open during spring/summer. Always recommend, probably the best in the neghbourhood.
