One of my absolute favourite restaurants in Kensington! Everything is vegan, and I usually go for the noodle soup #19. The Golden Curry vermicelli soup is also fantastic. The bahn mi selection is also fantastic and super tasty. My partner usually goes for the combo meals. The ambiance is nice, they have a lovely mural/painted ceiling, and a Buddha alter. The staff are all very nice!
Full honesty, sometimes they don’t always bring out the food to everyone at your table at the same time, and we have experienced waiting like a long time for everyone’s meal to arrive. It’s not as enjoyable to go to a restaurant, waiting for your friends’ meals to arrive while you already have yours. But we have not experienced that in like over a year—hopefully (and so far from my experience) that’s been corrected.
Anytime we go to Kensington, we make an effort to enjoy a meal at Saigon Lotus. We recommend it often to our friends, and have enjoyed every meal we’ve received there! We will be back again soon

Their Golden Curry Vermicelli Soup is the stuff that dreams are made of. Banh Mi sandwiches are great too but damn, that soup is so freaking amazing!

This place is confusing because the service after you’re seated is actually great. But when I walked in, there was nobody at the front. I stood there for a solid five minutes before I finally just sat myself out of sheer survival. Once the server noticed me, he was friendly and helpful, so no issue there.
The food was a mixed situation. I ordered the clear vegan noodle soup because I was craving something warm, and that was solid. Big portion, filling, no complaints. The bubble tea, though, was rough. Just didn’t taste right. Same with the fresh steamed rice roll. That one was so bad I had a full “what am I eating” moment. I couldn’t finish it.
The vibe doesn’t help either. Zero effort in the decor. It feels like a place you eat in because you’re already inside, not because you want to be.
I’d give it a second chance, but probably as takeout. And next time I’m reading reviews before picking anything, because the hits and misses here are serious.

The food does not taste good. We were four and all four could not finish what was on out plates. Swore not to come back. Service wasn’t great either. I see a lot of good reviews here, so either we went on a day where the chef and staff were having a bad or people leaving reviews are wrong about the place.
The food is so warming on a cold day. So delicious. If I could eat like this everyday I wouldn’t eat meat forever
