Sassafraz is my favourite Yorkville restaurant and I invariably take my out of town friends there to enjoy a delicious meal and great service in a relatively quiet environment. The kitchen and staff all lived up to my expectations. Thanks to everyone, including our waiter Derek, for making it a lovely, leisurely evening with dear friends. From the multiple check ins from management, the helping hands bringing out our food, and the main star of the show, our server, Asli. Asli was warm, inviting, and made us feel right at home with great food/drink recommendations, calm presence and just overall welcoming energy. A very cozy restaurant at the heart of Yorkville. I have been there a few times due to the proximity to my place. They deliver every time! Atlantic Salmon, the beef burgers and the duck breast are a must. Mezcal negroni is also good. I am going to be there , again, soon!!!

Met a friend for lunch. The food and wine were very good. The service was excellent. The room is comfortable. The only drawback is the 60's soundtrack -- I get it, it's supposed to evoke the area's Yorkville in the 60's vibe which some people like but it's not for me. However, this is a minor criticism. Overall, Sassafraz is a lovely place for lunch.

We sat in the atrium, a stunning room with waterfall to enjoy our brunch for my friends bday Service was impeccable, and food was delicious. I had an eggs benny with smoked salmon, came with potatoes and salad. My friend had a truffle omelet with cheese. Came with sour dough and a side salad. We both enjoyed a delicious cocktail. Large portions, no room for desert but they surprised us with maccaron and fruit with a candle. Love this place and would not hesitate to recommend!

I absolutely love dining at Sassafraz. The staff are absolutely lovely and extremely attentive, not a second goes by where your needs are not met, whether it be a drink refill or water, the temperature of your meal is not satisfactory? They will deal with it to your liking. Never have I gone to Sassafraz and been disappointed. My go to for celebrating milestones or simply treating myself.

We made a reservation for a party of 3 on a Tuesday evening. We called to move the time as we were running late and they were very accommodating.
Highly recommended the Beef Tartare & the Tuna and shrimp ceviche! Super fresh and tasty.
We ordered the Village Burger, Salmon (sub the potatoes with asparagus) and the Ragu.
For the dessert, we got the lemon tart and the passionfruit coconut mango panna cotta and that was the winner.
Overall, amazing and efficient service. Seats were super comfy with the cushions. Moody atmosphere. Bathrooms could look better especially being in York ville. We will be back!
