My first Americano with me poorly in the attendant happily made me a second.
She was incredibly overworked, and really needed a second or third person there to handle the work. Circumstances I thought she did a very good job. But it’s still not the best americana, But acceptable.

The employees are really bad and one of them lied to me I ordered a smoothie they said their weren’t any left the person in front of me had one and when I went to pick up the other drink that I ordered I saw the machine for smoothies on and making a smoothie that was very annoying and aggravating I don’t know why the employee lied but they lied

Please try to avoid this Second Cup at all costs!!!

1. Two months ago, I ordered a small coffee and they charged me a medium coffee. It was after I paid and got the small coffee that I realized they overcharged me according to the receipt. They never realized or admitted that until I pointed that out. The South Asian/Southeast Asian staff was especially rude in the whole event.
2. Recently, they cannot even get what I ordered exactly and gave me things irrelevant. What an experience again…

With only a few times that I purchased my coffee from this location I have seen a few mistakes that makes me bypass this location and go to another coffee shop to grab my coffee.

1. I usually load my Second Cup app and pay for my coffee using the app. The procedure is that one must scan the barcode on their app to pay for their purchase. However, the bartender asked me to scan the barcode again and again (4 times) with the excuse that the transaction is not complete. Later I noticed that 4 transactions have been deducted from my app wallet!

2. Another time I wanted to pay from the balance on my card, but that deducted from the points.

3. Another time I asked for a milk in my coffee and they gave me pure black coffee, nothing in it.

This is the last time that I waste my money in this location. I wish the Book Store Second Cup branch was open :(

Let me begin by saying I love Second Cup. This particular location is horrible and it’s 100% related to the owner Marve: I have been going to this location for years but recently the new owner has made going there a horrible experience. Two issues occurred here spurred me to write this review. The first incident happened on a Sunday in October 2022. Unplaced a mobile order and when I went to pick it up it didn’t have enough milk. So I simply asked if I could have a little bit of milk on the side and the owner literally yelled at me for placing a mobile order instead of ordering at the counter. I let that one pass because it was a very busy day and he was all alone. Today I ordered a medium Paradiso Dark. I order this coffee regularly at Second Cup and it’s my favourite but this particular batch was way too strong indicating the water to ground ratio was off. I couldn’t drink it. I went back to the counter to exchange it for a different one and he gave me such a hard time and argued that he made it the right way even though the only thing I said was it was too strong and I couldn’t drink it. I wasn’t asking for my money back, I was just asking for a pour of a different coffee type. In the end because he kept arguing and berating me I said, if it’s simpler I’ll just get a refund. He opened the till and tossed the money at me. I told him that this was pretty bad customer service and he wrote his name on a piece of paper and told me I could call Second Cup customer service and complain but that there was nothing they could do because it was his store. Who does that? Who acts in that manner when a customer simply wants to exchange their coffee because there was a quality issue? I spend $50-$70/month at Second Cup but I will never return to this location ever again. The staff is great but the owner is terrible and he should never be behind the counter serving people. If you choose to stop here, my advice is that if the owner is working don’t just walk away….run!!!
