A cozy, eclectic neighbourhood spot. Has delicious unique beers, super friendly bartenders, and fun weekly events. The kind of place where you can go alone and make new friends. Also, has amazing alt-rock / punk / new wave themed karaoke that you won't find anywhere else in the city.

Their award winning brewer who essentially ran the place left Shacklands in October after remaining unpaid by owner Dave for over a year. It's really gone downhill since then. Grimy surfaces everywhere, and a duplicitous owner who takes advantage of everyone around him.
