Nice little pub with good food and daily specials on drinks and apps. Always quick friendly service especially from Nat on week days. Definitely stop in for a visit if you're in bwv. Street patio in the summer as well.

We went to the menu relaunch last week and it was easy to see that Chef Anson Chong and his team put a lot of thought and effort into revamping the menu. The entire restaurant seemed to enjoy the new food, not just our table. A good of people enjoying the food and atmosphere of a restaurant is how loud it is - usually if people are not enjoying themselves it is quiet but shakeys was not quiet that night - good job to the entire staff in great menu relaunch

Back to Shakeys for a new review.

Great stuff. I like the new Karaage chicken item in particular - and the new dessert items are a sweet addition too :)

Recently stopped into Shakeys for some wings and a beer. Little did I know there was new kitchen staff, a new soon to be released menu etc. the atmosphere seemed much different, it was a great experience. I was fortunate enough to be able to try a few things from the new menu and man do those new Chefs really know how to cook some great food. Great front of house staff! Would love to one day meet the kitchen! Thank you guys, Can’t wait for the new menu!!!

Stopped by Shakey’s pub in Bloor West on a Friday night and had a great experience!

The karaage and dumpling tacos were absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and perfect for appetizers. I also enjoyed a good pint of beer that paired perfectly with the food.

The service was friendly and welcoming, and the cool hockey memorabilia on the walls added a fun, local vibe to the place.

A great spot for tasty bites, a solid pint, and a relaxed Friday night atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!

Don’t go here. The server with the curly hair was super rude to us (she wasn’t even our server), she told us we had to pay and leave because my friend was being too loud. They also continued to serve her alcohol so they clearly didn’t think she was too drunk and felt comfortable enough to keep making money from her buying drinks (which is the responsibility of the server SmartServe101 lol). When she asked us to pay and leave, my other friend made a joke about not tipping and this is when the curly haired waitress threatened to charge us 20% gratuity for a table of 4, which I’m pretty sure she’s not allowed to do since she wasn’t even our server and we’re not a group of 6+ people. She then proceeded to kick my friend out of the establishment for making a joke about not tipping. He later went back in to talk to her and ask why she was so rude to us and she said that my 4th friend sexually assaulted her, which is a very serious accusation and doesn’t make any sense why she had ask him to leave and not the person that she claims sexually assaulted her. My friend who payed the bill was the one she claims sexually assaulted her so why did she kick out the other friend? Will be calling management tomorrow to ask for her resignation or provide footage of this accusation.
Update in response to their comment:
Our server never mentioned the 20% gratuity when we entered. He only mentioned that the wait time for food was expected to be an hour, so I don’t understand why you would lie about mentioning this. My friend also didn’t sexually assault your server. He lost his balance on the wobbly table top and leaned back and accidentally touched his hand on the mid back of the curly haired server to catch his balance. When this happened she didn’t ask my friend to leave or kick him out. She kicked out my other friend when he joked about not tipping.
The friend that accidentally touched the server actually went up to her and apologized to her about the incident and she accepted his apology, so I would be interested in seeing this on the footage you sent to the police as well.
Lastly, you said you mentioned that the server doesn’t drink and was sober, not sure why you mentioned this, because I didn’t comment on her sobriety. I commented on the establishment still serving my girlfriend drinks when they seemed to have a problem with her when they came over and yelled at her for being too loud.

It's taken more then 30 minutes for waiter to get to us, and then they didn't except our order and told us to leave.

Nice beer specials. Wings were good but overly saucy for me. Nice location. Bingo night was going on and the place was bumping.

A great neighborhood local! Shakey's is exactly what you want for you local pub - very cozy, great food, consistently good beer selection on tap. Highly recommend making a reservation for their monthly oyster night (IYKYK).
It's very sports-centric with the TVs, but that's Toronto for ya.

Shakey’s Bar & Grill in Bloor West Village is one of those rare places that feels like home the moment you walk in. It’s welcoming, completely non-judgmental, and has some of the friendliest, most personable staff you’ll ever meet. Between the incredible team, the tight-knit and kind community of regulars, and the consistently good food and drink options, you’re always guaranteed a great time.

Their specials make it an affordable spot without ever sacrificing quality, service, or flavour. The menu has something for everyone, and everything is made with care. On a bad day, I know that stopping by Shakey’s will instantly turn things around. Love this place, it is an staple in Bloor West Village.
