This Indian place in the Danforth seems catered to non-natives. It’s really fancy inside and service is attentive.
I recommend the sizzling platter to share for the table. It comes with really tender tandoori chicken and grilled shrimp. The meat is very tasty, and the portion size is good.
The butter chicken curry $17 was so good. They ran out of roti, so I settled for garlic naan $4 and basmati rice $4.
The lamb Rogan josh $18 was recommended by our server. He claimed it was his favorite. It was good and on the spicy side!
Bathroom is down the steep steps. It’s dark.

There's a reason it's been around for over 40 years: the quality of the food! Lots of restaurants have come and gone on the Danforth, but "the Punjab" has outlived them... including many traditional Greek places that have sinced disappeared. The food is amazing and the service exceptional...and still a family run establishment! The Star of Punjab, and the Danforth, continues to shine! You will not be disappointed!
Great food, great decor, great vibe, great staff. You can tell they got the technique down and care about the experience they deliver. Highly recommend this restaurant. Sizzler items and various curries don't let you down. Naan and roti are really well made. Worth a visit if you're in Toronto. You won't be disappointed.

NEVER DISAPOINTS. This is the place i eat dinner as soon as i come into Toronto every time i take a trip there. My family have been coming here since the 80s.. always great service and the food is so rich and flavourful.

Ordered on skip the dishes and triple checked ingredients due to cilantro allergy. Received food on delivery and cilantro is mixed completely in. Called and was told everything had cilantro and too bad. Terrible
