Jun - the owner, chef and server was Awesome!! Explained each dish as they were served, with detail on fish, preparation (smoked, cured, aged), fish cut, fish origin location etc.. very complete Omakase and ended the meal with delicious ube ice cream!! Wish I brought a small container to bring some home (hint). Must return for 2nd or 3rd visit!!

Lack of service, food is slightly below average. Price is cheap compared to the other places. However, if you spend 300 + for two already, add a bit more go better place.

Food was great. Unfortunately for a restaurant of ~20 people, there was 1 waitstaff and 1 chef so the service was pretty slow, especially for the table seating. If they had 1 more person behind the sushi bar and another waiter, the pace of food would be better.
The music was also pretty loud and it was hard to talk across the table.

The omakase menus was amazing. 18 courses and each one was well balanced, fresh, and just layered texture.
The staff is wonderful. Food is absolutely wonderful. Highly recommended! :)

This omakase experience was really good! The selection of fish was fresh and flavourful. Quality too. You actually get so many courses for the price that you’re paying. I’ve been to another omakase experience that was $250+ and honestly, Shunoko is pretty comparable. Would come back!

For the price point you won't find a better omakase place in Toronto. Everything tasted great and the chef was friendly as well.

Jun Kim and the Shunoko team went well out of their way to make very special accommodations for my wife’s birthday! I’ll spare readers the details, but rest assured the customer service, experience and of course food was all amazing! Can’t say enough good things about Jun Kim and Shunoko. Thanks again!!

One of the favourite local spots in midtown to have my birthday dinner. Chef and staffs are very friendly and knowledgeable about the fish. Loved having small conversations with the chef!!

Came here for my birthday, had the omakase dinner with wine pairing.
So. Good. We haven’t had omakase before so I don’t have a point of reference, but I would go again, well worth the money!

Wonderful omakase meal with high quality and delicious selection of fish. Very friendly chef and staff. Beautiful presentation with a comfortable and relaxed environment. This is my favourite omakase in Toronto for the price range - very reasonable for what you get.

We accidentally booked the table instead of the counter so the omakase is experience was not as delightful. However that was our mistake and not the restaurants. The downside was the onigiri came out 3 pieces per plate which defeated the purpose of omakase which comes with 1 per plate straight from the chef. Fish was good, taro ice cream was excellent.

We celebrated our six-year anniversary at Shunoko tonight, and it was hands down the best omakase experience we’ve ever had. Our chef was incredibly welcoming, took the time to explain each course, and made every guest feel comfortable throughout the evening. I truly don’t think any other omakase restaurant in Toronto offers this level of quality and quantity at such a reasonable price point. We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended.

This must be the best omakase I've had in Toronto so far. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the fish. The chef has been working there from the very beginning, 8 years or so. The key winner is every nigiri was the rice. It was cooked and seasoned abs perfectly. Really elevates the flavors of the fish. Definitely will go back and could totally eat this everyday.
