Very basic food. Taste is just okay. Price is higher than similar places. Service is midcore

My partner and I dined in. we both got pad sew ew and it was the smallest portions ever. It was almost like they just divided a serving between the two of us. We also got the mussel appetizers, which was OK nothing great and is expensive for what it was. The Thai teas were tasty and service was mediocre. The point is, we left hungry, and it was quite disappointing!

Si Lom Thai Bistro demonstrates a sincere commitment to authentic Thai culinary expression—a restaurant positioning itself as an upscale encounter with regional cuisine executed with evident technical knowledge. Service personnel, many with genuine Thai heritage, execute their roles with palpable passion for the menu's cultural context.
The kitchen approaches classical Thai flavor constructions with respect, evident in the balance of fundamental taste components—the interplay of spice, acid, and umami articulation. Signature preparations achieve notable authenticity, with ingredients selected for both quality and cultural accuracy. The soft shell crab pad Thai exemplifies the kitchen's willingness to honor tradition while exploring thoughtful variation.
The dining environment presents an aesthetically refined space, though observations regarding atmospheric density suggest opportunities for enhanced comfort optimization. The pricing structure reflects aspirational positioning within Toronto's Thai dining landscape—a consideration worth acknowledging when evaluating value proposition relative to alternative establishments.
The establishment's restrictive approach to dietary accommodation—particularly regarding plant-based protein substitution in curry preparations—represents a notable limitation for certain guest profiles, warranting consideration in advance planning.
Si Lom Thai Bistro offers a competent, earnest interpretation of Thai cuisine, executed by personnel who understand and respect the tradition. The experience appeals to those seeking sophisticated Thai dining executed with cultural literacy, though contextual factors merit thoughtful consideration.

It’s alright, the restaurant didn’t feel very clean and the pad seew was too sweet. They were also sold out of beef on that day but it was only 6pm..
The food quality and taste aren’t quite what they used to be, which was a bit disappointing. The som tum with peanuts was overly salty for my liking. That said, the server was wonderfully attentive and kind—she even offered for some adjustments, though I politely declined due to my personal preference. On a brighter note, the mango sticky rice was delicious. Mango is perfect!
I used to visit this place a few times a month, my father came to visit so i decided to take him here but the portions have quite litterally been cut in half over the last year my father and i split 3 main dishes and left hungry
Love the food. Authentic Thai and super friendly staff!
The pad thai tasted like it had had an acid bath, and the waitress literally rolled her eyes when I told her I refused to pay for the updated higher price that wasn't in the menu I had scanned and ordered from. The manager was nice though and apologized for the mistake. Would definitely not come back again (mostly because of the abysmal food)
The food here is so grossly sweet and is nothing like the food in Thailand. We ordered two of the signature dishes - soft shell crab pad Thai and the sea bass. Couldn’t even finish it because it was sickeningly sweet. Waste of money and calories.
Appetizers and main course were fabulous. As their menu suggests, they make the dishes to the authentic taste and to take note of the spice level. We wanted to share appetizers, have a main course and dessert so we skipped the Tom yum soup.
The appetizers were well fried, no addition oil on the plates and they did not taste greasy at all. It was also clear that the frying oil was fresh as suggested by the taste of the food.
We had Pad Thai, Pad Si Ew and Ka Prao Khai Dow. Overall flavors were great. Pad Thai was only missing a touch of spice which you could request for some chilli powder/flakes. Pad Si Ew was fantastic, the fresh veggies brought it close to perfection. Ka Prao Khai Dow was wonderful too.
The quality of food we had so far elevated our expectations of the desserts. We were a little disappointed with the mango sticky rice. The taste was still good but the sticky rice with coconut combination was unexpected. We were expecting a less runny version of coconut milk, there should be a mixture of evaporated and coconut milk. We would have preferred the original form of this dessert. However, we didn’t feel it was justified to give less than 5-stars for the overall quality and taste of the food.

This is probably my favourite Thai restaurant I've been to - not for its authenticity but for the flavours. I love the street style twist on the dishes here. I visited the second time this year and ordered the Pad Kee Mao, which was beyond delicious. Portion sizes are huge - great value.
My friends got the fried rice , Thai iced tea, etc., which they all loved. I'll definitely come by again for some great Thai street style food!
