I would like to share the experience of a close friend at this restaurant, as it has made me reconsider visiting it myself. When one invests time and resources in a place with such a reputation, high standards in service and issue management are naturally expected. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
My friend encountered a problem when paying the bill: the terminal indicated the transaction as “incomplete,” so, following the cashier's suggestion, he used a second card. Later, upon reviewing his bank transactions, he confirmed that both payments had been processed successfully.
The next day, he returned to the restaurant with the intention of resolving the matter in a respectful manner. What truly concerns me as a potential customer is how he was treated: the person who assisted him was dismissive, unwilling to address his case, and refused to check their system to confirm the charges, despite him providing clear evidence from his banking app.
I fully understand that technical problems can occur, even at the finest establishments. However, what is truly disappointing is the lack of attentiveness and professionalism in handling such situations. One expects a restaurant of this caliber to stand out not only for its culinary offerings but also for its impeccable service and ability to manage challenges with grace and empathy.
When we choose places of this level, we do so with the expectation that the experience will be flawless from start to finish. Incidents like this, however, raise doubts and undermine the trust I would be willing to place in such a venue. I sincerely hope that this feedback is taken as an opportunity to strengthen processes and elevate service quality, as those of us who frequent establishments of this category seek precisely that: excellence without exceptions.

I told my friend about this place and they double charged him and did not refunded even when he showed proof, very sad cause I really liked this place. I will not be back anytime soon or might never come back, very very bad CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Later, after checking my bank records and confirming with my bank, I was informed that both transactions had been processed successfully.
The next day, I returned to the restaurant to look for a solution and talk to the manager. My intention was to resolve the matter in a cordial manner, but I was surprised by the lack of availability of the person who assisted me. Not only did it ignore my report, but it also refused to check the system to verify the charge, even though it was clearly visible in my banking app.
I understand that technical issues can happen, but what really disappointed me was the lack of empathy and courtesy in the service. I believe a restaurant of this caliber should prioritize customer experience and offer clear and respectful solutions when issues like this occur.
I sincerely hope that this feedback will be considered as an opportunity to improve, both in process management and in staff training. I would like to return in the future and have the experience I initially expected.

Unfortunately the pistachio gelato was no good, wouldn’t go back. Especially considering it’s in little Italy, has a name like Sicilian sidewalk cafe; misleading.

Sicilian Sidewalk Cafe truly nails the dessert game! The customisable waffles were an absolute highlight—pairing vanilla and tiramisu ice cream was the perfect combination.
The tiramisu ice cream had this delicate yet powerful flavor that instantly won us over. My friend loved it so much, they’re planning another trip from Hamilton just for more! The atmosphere was laid-back and enjoyable, though a cozy booth or couch section would take it to the next level - highly suggest that for the cafe.
Overall, it’s a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth looking for quality desserts in a welcoming setting!

I recently visited Sicilian Sidewalk cafe, and it instantly became my new favorite spot. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, perfect for hanging out with friends, family, or even just enjoying some "me time." The décor is charming and inviting, with a modern touch that adds to the experience.
Not only is the ice cream top-notch, but they also have an impressive menu of coffee, pastries, and other treats. Their affogato is the perfect pairing of hot and cold, and the presentation is on point!
The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to offer recommendations if you’re not sure what to try. The service is fast, and they truly go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful experience.
Overall, Sicilian Café is a must-visit for anyone who loves ice cream or is just looking for a cozy spot to relax. I can’t wait to come back and try more flavors!

I love this cafe so much! They have a lovely patio and the staff are always so wonderful. Their iced cappuccino's and arancini are my go to's but anything I've ordered here has been amazing!

My husband and I have been going to this café every summer over the years (12 or so). Went with my family and the staff didn't know what gelato was. We had to translate and ask for ice cream. The server took my son's order, but looked pissed off the whole time: is a double scoop on a waffle cone that hard?! Within 3 seconds of receiving his cone, the top scoop fell on the floor (note to server, next time try putting the harder ice cream on the bottom, sorbet on top). The server asked if we would like a cup to pick it up and did she insinuate he eat it?! I don't know, but I threw it out. She said nothing and then proceeded to charge us for two scoops. My husband and I are polite, civil guests - maybe we are old school - but this was the worst example of customer service. What are we teaching our youth?! Will not be returning.

Even when they're busy for the festival, the staff goes above and beyond to help. The paninis have a good size, specialty coffee and drinks are delicious! 👏✨️🫂
