So disappointing that the french fries were so, so bad. Maybe they are ok when soaked in gravy and curds, but on their own they were dried out and lifeless. When fries are literally what you do as your specialty, they should stand on their own. But they really don't. Not good. I'm sure you can do better. It's a cute little place and the guy behind the counter was super nice but come on, make better fries. Put a better method in place. Learn from a chip truck if you have to. We need good fries!
Disgusting location. Every ingredient subpar

Hi love, smokes poutinerie, but this location specifically, just isn’t very good.
They are frequently out of many things - and don’t know about it until they try to put it into their system;
the staff obviously have better things to do and don’t come to take your order until you call for them;
And the promos are overly specific and exclusive (that other locations don’t do this!) - for example free coke with meal size order but won’t honor it for wow size order

The regular sized poutine (ordinary poutine) is really great, and more than enough for 1 person. Enough cheese curds (actual curds, not some random kind of white cheese chunks) and usually plenty of gravy.
Service is quick, food is served in fabulous package, and is difficult to close lid, they fill it so full.

At almost $8 this is the worst value popcorn chicken I've ever received. Didn't even come with dipping sauce. The poutine was soaked through in gravy which would be great except it had the consistency of tea, not gravy and made the item a soggy cube of wet potato. They do however throw in these stupid little tattoos or stickers with the founders (r.i.p.) face on them. considering smokes used to be edible and actually delicious he'd be a little uncomfortable right about now if he knew. Won't be ordering from This place again. Such a joke
Chicken sandwich???
More like hockey puck
No juice left whatsoever
Hard...stale...like itbwas too much trouble to make a fresh one in over 2 hours...
Stick to the poutine...

I came because of the good reviews but left disappointed. $16 for oily, soggy, bitter fries with very little gravy that was too salty. I know I can't expect Montreal level poutine here in Toronto but I was expecting better than this.

Ordered a Buffalo boneless poutine and there was no gravy and not one cheese curd. Definitely confused with the quality at this location.
READ EDIT BELOW!!!
So happy this outlet opened here. I was crushed when the location at Dundas and George closed. No other locations were convenient for me. Smokes was my go-to for take out.
So I did a happy dance when I saw the outlet near Pape on Danforth. Well, I smiled anyway. Been going about once every couple weeks since. Always clean, never busy, pleasant staff.
Great addition to a rapidly changing area. Hope it survives the upcoming decade of construction.
2025 EDIT*** sadly the last 3 visits were disappointing. Order wrong once which I didn't discover until home 25 mins away.
Twice counter staff were unpleasant. Another time missing ingredients. All three times the fries were odd texture and taste.
Very sorry this once fave spot is now unappealing to me. Hopefully confined to this outlet and not chain wide.

The food and especially the choice of menu for vegetarian is really good. It tasted fresh and and the fries were crunchy…the only thing I didn’t like is the sitting space but other wise the food, service and taste is really worth but I also found it slightly overpriced for a basic poutine! A little busy and cramped parking spaces but if you go after 8pm there’s some chance of finding a parking space.
