Everything is vegetarian and many are changeable to vegan. Great tasting good. Incredible service. Highly recommended. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-19
Beautiful food, vibe, and so friendly. Loved the flavours in the Okra Mustard Curry. And the slow-cooked carrot pudding was one of the best desserts I’ve had in awhile. They greeted us with a friendly: it’s cold out there come in! And promptly brought me a cup of a house made herbal tea without asking if I needed a hot drink to warm up. Social Llama Cafe is a must-visit for anyone seeking creative, high-quality vegetarian food in Toronto. I tried the famous Mad Water Balls which come served with a fantastic coconut yogurt! They also have decent options for a variety of dairy-free alternatives (like different milks/yogurts) which is great for those with dietary needs. We also loved the deeply comforting Gnocchi Truffle Mushroom, featuring a luscious house-made sauce of three different mushrooms and topped with vegan cheese. And, if you're looking for an entree, their plant-based Chk’n tikka Masala is simply legendary!. The passion of Chef Ishan truly shines through every dish, and the service is incredibly personalized. Note: It's small and cozy, so book ahead! Highly recommended! Updated from previous review on 2025-12-07
This is a really cute and cozy restaurant. We were served by Chef Prathmesh who was so hospitable. It was very thoughtful of them to serve us a complimentary herbal tea on this cold fall evening while we were browsing their menu. The menu has so many options that vegetarians usually don't get at most restaurants. The food was delicious and the service warm and friendly. We will definitely be going back.

Prathmesh is an absolute gem of a server and chef! So kind, well spoken, and helpful. All the staff were lovely. The food was delicious and fairly priced. I love the concept of making the food inclusive for everyone with various dietary restrictions being considered. Overall, I was very impressed and will definitely be back.

We visited Social Llama about a week ago for brunch. There is a lot of care that has been put in the menu, decor and ambience of the place. We were first served infused water which was quite refreshing. There are several interesting options on the menu that are vegan & vegetarian. We tried Llama Hummus burger and Mushroom Avocado toast and both were delicious. The show stealer was the golden carrot saffron mousse. I went in thinking it would be similar to gajar ka halwa (carrot pudding) but the texture and flavor was amazing and so different, possibly because it's slow cooked for 8 hours! It reminded me of the black carrot halwa that my father would make which looked and tasted like a chocolate mousse. The experience was also made great by the fact that we had amazing hosts in Chef Ishan and Prathamesh. We had a great time chatting with Chef Prathamesh who shared the idea behind their place and how it's a Chef-led restaurant. Social Llama Cafe is a great addition to the Midtown area. Wish them the best! 💖

Amazing experience and food that warms your heart. We came here for my birthday. I was craving cozy food and Social Llama Have it all. We will repeat the experience, the service was excellent and the space is lovely and very well decorated with Llamas everywhere. We order the Mad water balls, butter masala and the spinach penne, we loved all of them.

You can tell the chef takes pride in this place. Come support a nice hard working man.
Amazing food, even better service. Only recommendation for the restaurant is to try to get the menu items to work well with each other. We had a hard time trying to figure out what to pick to share since not many items (even though individually would be great) work together as shared items. Regardless, can’t wait to come back again!

This was an absolutely incredible dining experience - the red lentil pasta and black bean burger are some of the best we’ve had.
Pratimesh was also an excellent host.

Our family is 3 vegetarians, a vegan and a celiac. Finding a place that can easily accommodate us all is like finding a unicorn.
Social Llama had delicious food, many options for all of us, and they were just lovely people. Well worth a visit.
