The 'Feed Me' option was probably the best choice for someone like me who has never tried Malaysian cuisine before. I really enjoyed the different options, it's hard to choose a favorite but I think it was the roti. The only minor downside was they should have a larger selection of beer.

Had the vegan menu (Fat Choi)
Food was fantastic, it came out quickly and at a good pace, not overwhelming the table.
Service was polite and very prompt, cleaning tables/dishes.

Reasonably priced considering the quality/quantity.

Bathroom was clean and stocked.

Zero complaints, will be back for sure.

While the food tasted alright, a bit salty, and the portions were small and ridiculous. Any regular restaurant would serve curries with rice, especially given how salty it was. Perhaps it's to give customers freedom of choice between rice / roti. If that's the case, might as well make the dish $40 bucks and let customers choose between the two. No one informed us of this either, so we had to make a separate order after and wait. They were also rather disorganized and inattentive that night

Cute cozy Malaysian place. Compacted place.

Food is good, generally similar to Thai. Small portions. On the salty side. Tiramisu was good. The pork belly was very salty. Tacos was like shawarma with an Asian twist.

The only annoying part was the bar seating area was so tight, the person sitting next to me was wayyyy too close to me.

Best Malaysian ever. Get a table outside in the summer, enjoy the spicy cauliflower/broccoli and people watch on Ossington!!

I ordered the braised beef noodle and tiramisu. The beef was tender and the portion was generous, but its too salty for my taste.

The tiramisu was the highlight of the meal—creamy, well-balanced, and not overly sweet, making it a nice way to finish. Overall, a mixed experience, but there’s definitely potential.

Absolutely mind blowing cuisine. I visited from the states and looked for ethnic food and this place popped up. We met the owner and our meals were nothing short of incredible.

Never had Malaysian cuisine before, but it was very accessible. Worth going out of your way to come here from anywhere in Toronto.

The high rating and the allure of “reimagined Malaysian cuisine” was the hook that drew us in; the multiple preexisting multi paragraph essay like Google reviews intrigued us; the execution of the food combined with the excellent level of service is absolutely what 1) helps us understand why people would want to write novels on Soos’ praises, and 2) will absolutely have us coming back for more.

bullet points on the experience:

- fun ambiance, not too loud, just hits the vibe between upscale Ossington and homey/ “hole in the wall”.

- excellent food. like really, really, well executed. rarely have we ever been to places where EVERY single dish was a knockout, but kudos to the chef(s) because they DELIVERED. scallop crudo, so fresh and so many layered flavours. coconut tacos, are you kidding me?? char kway teow, the smokiness on that noodle had us DREAMING. pineapple pie, was there crack in there???

- dishes were taken off our table within 5 mins of us finishing it. a very underrated part of the dining experience, a very small gesture that speaks absolute volumes and helps shape a rather large portion of the perception of a restaurant. attentiveness 10/10, no notes.

- FOH team worked like a beautifully greased wheel to provide all guests with an excellent experience. all the girls were kind, quick, knowledgeable, and everything you want in an employee. absolute queens!!

tl;dr they can take all my money.

Came here on a friday evening, wasn’t busy at the time, was able to walk-in for a table of three. We ordered three dishes + dessert.
The Kapitan Tacos, Murtabuk, and the Banana Leaf Fish.

Kapitan Tacos had good flavours, blended well together.

Murtabuk was absolutely delicious, jam packed with flavour and a hint of spice.

Banana Leaf Fish was not my favourite, the trout didn’t seem fresh. It tasted a bit fishy.

For dessert we shared the Sago Sago. Mid way through eating it, my friend bit into something hard that did not belong to the dish. It appeared to be a piece of metal from a stainless steel scrubber… it really took us by surprise. We brought it to our server’s attention. The staff replaced it and comped it, but it was a bit unsettling.

Overall, the vibes were decent, not too shabby of an experience. Will not be coming back.

One of my favourite restaurants in Toronto! Spectacular food - the mushroom bao and char kway teow in particular were superb. Highly recommend!

Maybe I went in with expectations too high but I found the food underwhelming. My friend and I sat at the bar on a crowded night. The service was friendly. We shared a cocktail teapot, the kari puff, and the cod dish. Kari puff is essentially a large flaky samosa. It was all okay but didn’t match the hype or price.

What happened?!?! It used to be so flavorful and now everything was just alright. We got the classics and nothing stood out. Talk to the chef and make things more bold.
