First and foremost, our server was excellent. Friendly, appropriately humorous and very attentive to the table. I should have taken his name so I could give him kudos.
Food was good to very good, depending on the dishes. My hangar steak was perfectly cooked and was accompanies by a nice sauce. I appreciated that the sauce was served in a small side jug, so I could pour my own quantity. Shoestring frites were super crunchy and not greasy at all. Both dished needed some salt though.
One of my friends had the salmon and he loved it.
Incredible wine list! If you have the financial means, i.e. mid hundreds into four figures, Sorrel offers some very, very lovely French wines.

This is an excellent French restaurant. I lived in France for 6 years and must say - this restaurant brings back many fond memories. The atmosphere is lively and this was a fantastic experience. The people here are kind and thoughtful. The food is authentic French cuisine.

Nice atmosphere, but such a cheap restaurant. The appearance and decorations may look posh, but that’s only the surface. These are two restaurants and who doesn’t have reservations is given a table at there adjoining space. I was walking the neighborhood and saw the high rating and liked the vibe so decided to go there, and was directed to the second salon. I ordered chicken sandwich… which was very oily, with the skin attached to it (was it made in a hasty way?). I rather have the fried chickens of such a posh place not to have skin, and have only the fillet in my sandwich. The detachment of fried skin is a hassle and it’s better and healthier without skin. However, I was considering giving a good tip since the waiter was so attentive. When I asked for the bill he murmured something about the cutlery. Asking him to repeat, he said “I want the cutlery back”, implying I have taken them. I wad in total shock and surprise and looked at him in disbelief because it was the first time in my life I was given such an accusation. Never thought the waiters could be so forgetful and rude at the same time. The fact was that he had taken the cutlery earlier when he gathered my plate from the table. I reminded him he took them to the kitchen earlier with the plate and couldn't do more as I'm not a Karen, but I wish I had replied his rudeness with the same attitude to get over my frustration. I took some nice photos of my plate which I share here.

I always love Sorrel, but it was really nice to be in the smaller area for a great catch up with my girlfriends.
Very nice meal- great food and great service. Definitely a more “upscale” feel to the ambience. It was a beautiful space but not a lot of privacy and the clientele seemed very much “from money” as you would expect from the neighbourhood. That said, everyone was very polite and welcoming. Overall, great restaurant with a “family-owned” feel.
Food was incredible. I really enjoyed the duck confit. It was done to perfection. Cant wait to go back!
Food wasn't up to par last night but won't stop me from returning. Fish undercooked and boccincini special was just mediocre.....service was excellent as usual
Fabulous birthday lunch. We ordered the octopus and the special Jerusalem artichokes with lemon aioli. Both dishes were exceptional! For mains hubby had the scallops and I had the Hanger steak with frites. Service was impeccable!

Heavenly Food Quality accompanied with the Finest service I've ever encountered in Toronto ! ! This Establishment is the Benchmark for Quality and Service Bravo !
As per usual, Sorrel never disappoints! The food is always delicious, Sarah and Farro are fabulous hosts, and service is always on point. Highly recommend!
Food and service was great. However- our party of 4 were unhappy with being seated by the washroom and coat rack and hemmed in by the bar. Would've preferred to be toward the middle or front of the room.
The food quality is good. The portions are small, however well presented. The service is very good. My biggest issue was, after I was assured there were would be no bones in the fish, there was way too many bones in the fish, which really made the main course unpleasant.
We have enjoyed the dinner very much. The menu is extensive plus so many daily specials. Lots of local catch, seafood and meat. The service is superb, the server is always attentive and carefully managed the speed of the dinner courses. We had a big meal at sorrel with truly delicious food.
