If there's a better, more consistently delightful experience in Toronto than Sorrel, I have yet to find it. Consistently a 9/10 or better, every single time. Our latest visit was no different.
Our Favourite restaurant in Toronto. Consistently great food, service and ambience. Attention to detail is amazing. Crisp white linens, fresh flowers on all tables. Simply the best of the best. Sarah and Faro are the perfect hosts.
What a wonderful treat! We received a gift certificate from my parents who are big fans of Sorrel, with good reason! We immediately felt welcomed by Sarah who showed us to a lovely table for two at the front of the sunny room. Barry was our waiter and host and from the start made us feel comfortable, shared his knowledge of the menu and was quick with water and service generally. The food was delicious and came fast - we did not feel rushed in any way but had three courses and coffee and were still out within 90 minutes. This was a graduation celebration evening it seems so the mood was happy and light with multigenerational tables enjoying what is clearly a favourite supper spot for area families. We're delighted to have eaten well and still have credit on the gift certificate - a perfect excuse to return (not that we need one)!
During my last few dining experiences here, I have felt rushed to order and get on with eating quickly. The waiters are literally running back and forth which isn't enjoyable as a customer. Suggestion: slow it down and allow people to relax.
Hands down T.O.'s best restaurant all round — what you want to eat (lunch was wedge salad w anchovy, parm, and classic beef tartar), deftly prepared, expertly served. Could eat here everyday.
Beyond incredible, this is not only a neighborhood gem, but one of the best restaurants I've been in terms of everything that can be rqved about, to rave about. Service, food, drink, ambiance, 10s across the board!
Restaurant was really nice. Food and service were also nice. Staff was great, especially the host. The only thing I was disappointed with ,was the clientele there . We went on our bikes so we had bike clothes ( jeans and leather jacket) so we were stared at a lot. People were looking at us up and down all the time with their judgemental look, it became unbearable. Something to keep in mind, don't dress down when you go there. Everything else is really good
Although we booked three weeks in advance, we were hustled into the annex area of the restaurant rather than the main dining room and seated at the last table by the bar. This was our first time at Sorrel, so we didn't know we should have rejected that table. For years friends of ours have raved about Sorrel, so we were really looking forward to going there. My appetizer was probably the best dish I have ever had (this is no exaggeration). It was the Diver Scallop Ceviche. In retrospect I should have ordered a second plate of that appetizer and called it a night. When my veal scallopini arrived both my wife and I said how unappetizing it looked. Medallions of grey, thinly sliced veal which was overcooked. There was a portion of spaghetti on the side, which was flavourless. My wife's salmon was dry (overcooked). I'm no chef, but I make better salmon at home. When the busboy removed our plates he seemed distracted. As he passed by my wife's chair, the plates he was carrying whacked my wife in the shoulder, so hard it made her jump. He apologized. Overall a disappointing experience. We will try Sorrel again because we are convinced this series of disappointments we experienced were the exception not the rule. We will be sure to get a table in the main dining room next time and I really hope the ceviche dish is still on the menu. By the way, our waiter was very pleasant.
An innovative number of choices. I had saffron and prawns (I am Persian and love saffron). I was thrilled with the quality of food. I used to go to the Yorkville location for years and this was the first time I tried the Summerhill location. Perfect - 10 out of 10
Mussels were mainly closed. Inedible. But they offered to make me a new dish. Mussels should only be ordered in the months with an “r” in the name. . Jan/Feb/Mar/Apr/Dec

We sat outside for dinner. And we continually were bombarded with a noxious sewer smell. Thoroughly disgusting. Ruined the night and the meal. There were no tables indoors that we could move to. But one has to wonder why Sorrel seats people outdoors when it is fully aware of the disgusting sewer odor wafting nearby. Sorrel has to shut these tables down. I won't go back.
My fav spot, holy! Sexy and delicious food. However, they did kick me out of my seat... but my third person was running extremely late and they needed the table of 4. I would definitely come back for the food.
As always, the food and service are impeccable. We tried the Beef Tenderloin for the first time, and found it absolutely delicious.
One of our favourite spots to unwind and have a great dinner. The service is excellent and the ambiance is a perfect blend of casual /chic with an energizing and warm vibe.
Overall one of our favourite restaurants to dine at. However I did ask for light dressing on Baby Gem salad and it came loaded with too much dressing. We found the noise level a bit too high for conversation and hearing, but it was a busy night, so guess it was to be expected. We do plan to return at some time in the future.
