My friend Kenny chan brought me here. The food and service was great. I recommend the beef and egg and cheese. (I forgot what the food was actually called but it was really good it was like this soft powdery bread, kinda thin) but delicious nonetheless! If you’re reading this stop now and make your way to Soufi’s!

Absolutely delicious!I stumbled upon Soufi's walking across Queen W and WOW, the Manaeesh pies are so tasty! Perfect lunch or snack! The woman at the cashier was so friendly. We were oblivious white folk trying Syrian food for the first time and the whole place was so authentic and traditional. 100% recommend.

3.75 stars just for the knafeh — good flavour, good price for the size. It tasted a bit more dry than what I’ve had before. Was good with the orange blossom syrup. Got a takeout order with instructions to bake at home so it was fresh✨

" Bohemian Middle-Eastern Coffee Shop has Toronto's sexiest and tastiest baked dessert! " #3Stars+aBonus Toronto's eclectic Queen Street West (around the Bathurst area) continues to gentrify and evolve with independant clothing shops, predominantly Asian fusion eateries and plenty of tattoo parlors and cannabis shops! Amongst all that activity, we stumbled on Soufi's, a Syrian bakery specializing in " Manaeesh " and the famous middle eastern cheese " knaffeh ", both found in various versions from Israel to Turkey and Arabian countries everywhere and in between. Once inside, the ambiance is that of a very eclectic and artsy coffee joint; think bohemian rhapsody, wooden old floors and furniture - with Knick knacks and a tie dye wearing crowd , très très " Woodstock, 1960's ", which is typical of the area; the only giveaway that this Is a Syrian/ middle eastern specialized shop and bakery is the mixture of soft Arabian chillout, mellow disco beats and oriental sounds that were blaring softly while dining. The staff were very casual and friendly. We were explained the various types of manaeesh, which is a typical middle eastern style round flatbread usually know to be made with Zaatar thyme spices and olive oil. To our surprise, this bakery's Syrian style of this item comes folded and overall presented more like a folded pita than the thin crust style pizza of its famous Lebanese/middle Eastern namesake. We ordered the " Msakhan " which was listed on the menu as containing grilled chicken, onions & sumac spice ($6.75). This item was the least favorite of the bunch as we couldn't taste any chicken, it came in a pale minced meat mixture that was beefy tasting and was not a hit at all. We followed it by the " Sfeeha " that is made of ground beef & mixed vegetables ($7.25) and it was flavorful and tasty. Not the best we have ever had not will we order them again but they were ok overall. The star Of the show was the " Halloumi cheese " manaeesh which was ultimately like the other two - nothing " manaeeshy " but just a pita sandwich folded in the oven. Still, it was very, very tasty, hearty and delicious. The folded Pita consisted of Semi-hard white cheese that was topped with tomatoes and cucumbers ($7.25) - and we will definitely order that again!!! The sides we ordered were tabouleh salad ($6.50) and Labneh dip ($6.50) with added pita bread ($1.25). Although they are presented on the menu as " savoury sides ", we were very displeased by the fact that they were pre-made and prepackaged in the display refrigerator. The tabuleh that had ingredients listed as " Parsley, tomato & bulgur salad with an olive oil & lemon dressing " was completely dry. When we pointed it out to the staff, they advised us to mix the container, which didn't make it any better so we didn't insist and decided to take it home and fix it with our pantry lemon and oil later.... But....we will definitely not order it again. The labneh dip was good but again, we expect freshness not to come from a pre-made pre-packaged refrigerated container to which the staff open the lid and add olive oil and dried thyme for garnish ". The big finish and why this bakery/coffee shop gets the 4 stars instead of 3 - is the OG cheese knaffeh dessert ($6.25), which is up there with some of the best we have ever had. This knaffeh is made up of Shredded Phyllo pastry filled with soft white cheese, topped with orange blossom syrup and pistachios and comes right out of the oven; wOw wOw wOw!!!! Light airy fluffy not too sweet at all, nice and soft with a little bite, clearly a winner and will qualify for being Toronto's sexiest baked dessert, served on a wooden butcher block plank. No wonder we were super Impressed, more liked wowed big time! - the menu offers a half baked version to cook at home with instructions; we definitely purchased two for later! Mmmmm mmmmm mmmm!!! The Turkish coffee finish ($3) was terrific in it

Got the Cheese knafeh and the Cashew and Cheese knafeh. Both were a little dry but the Cheese knafeh was nice and chewy while the Cashew Cheese knafeh was weird. I don't know if I got a bad batch but there was no cheese or cashew paste in sight and much more importantly, I couldn't taste any cheese or cashew. I couldn't taste anything. It was just some really dry crumbs shaped into the pan. The only flavour I got was from the sugary orange blossom syrup because there was no taste without it. Disappointing.

So sad to write this review as this used to be one of my fav. places in Toronto.. but seems that things never stay thesame when the position gets taken for granted!!!! This morning I ordered sfeeha manaeesh and while eating I was shocked with a long HAIR in the beef mix!!!!This experience was beyond disgusting and I have no words to describe it.. I threw up and my stomach still hurts of the experience. That is not the only problem.. so I call the restaurant to complain and told them what I experienced and felt... the guy didnt even apologize properly!!! Didn’t offer a refund, didnt offer any word that reflects that he actually understands how serious this issue is!!!! THIS IS WHAT GETS ME CONCERNED!!! I mean mistakes happen... but NOT REALIZING HOW CRITICAL SUCH A HEALTH AND HYGIENE RELATED ISSUE IS IN A RESTAURANT.... ??!!!!!!!!Here is when I decided to write this review!!!!I could have easily filed an official report with the health authority!!! And he didn’t take the problem seriously... or showed any interest to know details....That is what I can not ignore... !!!!!!THIS NEEDS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY!!!!So disappointed.. !!!!

I've only ever had dessert here but it was so good every time that I know this place deserves 5 stars. The knafe was as good as mama's ! (maybe better but don't tell her)

I am only rating their muhamara Manaqeesh. It was less than ok! It was fine. However I am sure they have a lot of things that are worth trying. I might be going, and ordering something different just to make sure that I am fair. Loved the inside of the shop though.Looks cultural. The shop was a bit hot, but I guess it was a hot summer day.
