Last place in the city with great value and delicious food. You’ll never go to the big chains again!

It feels like the CHEESEBURGER place from 1979s Saturday Night Live! Food is good, but the vibe is almost hilariously out of date and fun.

Is there anything more iconic on the Danforth than square boys? The lineups are always worth the wait. I can’t rave enough about their chicken on a pita, fries with a side of gravy…you just can’t go wrong. Their food is always excellent, service incredibly friendly and you can’t beat the price for the quality of what you get. When I used to live in the area this place was a weekly staple…I only wish I lived closer now, but it’s a must stop place when I’m in the city!!!

An era, sadly, has drawn to a close. For years, Square Boy held the undisputed title of the best-tasting burger in the city—a benchmark of simplicity and satisfaction. I lingered in quiet hope, convinced that the chorus of loyal patrons might persuade the kitchen to return to its former glory. Alas, no such reversal has come.

The culprit? An unfortunate reliance on filler—breadcrumbs, by all indications—which has robbed the burger of its integrity. The patty can no longer hold its form, collapsing under its own weight. What was once a juicy, balanced bite has devolved into something resembling a barbecued casing stuffed with a soft, mealy interior.

It pains me deeply to write this, but the Square Boy burger I cherished is no more. With genuine heartbreak, I must take my leave.

Square Boy has been a staple of mine for a long time. You can't beat the price. The chicken souvlaki on a bun is amazing.
