Mobile ordered and they just forget a food item in my order. Only one barista working on the drinks, taking her time slowly, chilling with her colleague, and just didn’t even bother to check when I asked where is the other item. Waited for another 10min and still no sign of my food until I asked for a refund. This location used to be one of my favs around the neighbourhood but not anymore. So disappointed.

I visited your Starbucks today and oh my God, the barista Jerry (hope I spelled that right) is the best! He absolutely made my day! He radiates such warm and powerful energy. Please give him a raise for the amazing vibe he brings to people!

Fantastic Starbucks location at Bay and Cumberland! The matcha is always perfectly made, and the customer service is excellent, friendly, fast, and consistent every visit.

Standard Starbucks experience. Space is on the smaller and narrower side, but the people and decor create a lively atmosphere. Conveniently located atmosphere from the Bay subway station.

Won't even let a mother and her child use the bathroom without purchasing something first despite being the only place in the area with a public restroom. Disgusting behaviour to make a child who clearly needs the rest room walk away

I’ve been to this Starbucks a few times and was very satisfied. The quality of the drinks and food was above average, and the portion size and price were reasonable. The staff are very friendly, and although it’s usually crowded and you have to look around for a seat, it’s a nice place overall. There’s no parking available, but I still recommend everyone to try it at least once.

Slowest Starbucks on the planet. Had to wait 30min for a croissant to be heated

I truly enjoy my visits to Starbucks, especially when Jerry is present. His service is outstanding, and his warm, welcoming demeanor always makes the experience delightful

Neighborhood Starbucks with local clientele. Friendly space with excellent customer service. Always happy to pick up a coffee here and a pup cup—very dog friendly. Patio space on the sidewalk as well.

I have been a loyal Starbucks customer for over two decades, typically spending $15–20 per visit, two to three times a day. Unfortunately, my recent experience at the Bay & Bloor location on Thursday, September 4th, was extremely disappointing.

I went in midday to enjoy a latte and do some work, spending about 30–45 minutes in the store. When I finished my drink and prepared to leave, I asked for the washroom code. Instead of a courteous response, I was met with a very unpleasant and dismissive attitude from the barista, who told me it was “only for customers.” I had just made a purchase and was clearly a customer, but the way this was said felt unnecessarily rude and condescending.

The question itself wasn’t the issue — it was the tone, body language, and overall lack of respect. Starbucks used to pride itself on creating a welcoming, high-end coffeehouse experience, with baristas who greeted you warmly and often remembered your order. Sadly, that level of hospitality seems to have disappeared.

At this location, the focus seems less on customer service and more on gatekeeping, almost as if the staff were playing “washroom police.” The whole interaction left me feeling like an unwelcome intruder rather than a valued guest. If this is the standard of service now, it reflects poorly on the management of this store.

I don’t think I’ll be returning to this location, which is a real shame given my long history with Starbucks.

This place is always “out of something”. First it was Mint Majesty tea (for 2 weeks) then it was certain breakfast sandwiches and now it’s the toppings for the oatmeal. Whoever is in charge or restocking is doing a poor job.

Best Starbucks downtown! Raj and Jordan are the best baristas. When I left an item here this week, Jordan went out of her way to hold onto it until I was able to my make way back from the west end. Raj offered me complimentary water and another coffee immediately when I came back for my item. Super impressed with their kindness, especially at this time of year.

I normally go to this location every Sat & Sun for coffee and I get my coffee on weekdays at another location near my workplace. I normally order my drinks on the Starbucks app and just go to the shop to pick it up. Normally have no interactions with the staffs there. I ordered a cold drink today and when I am at the pick up area, I saw bunch of straws lying there, so I picked one up myself. Then all of a sudden a lady (she had some of her hair dyed in pink) walked towards the pick up area from the coffee machine and told me in an unpleasant face, “Can you ask us to pass you the straws next time?”, then I replied her with, “ok” (although I don’t quite get the logic, because the straws are just in front of me, and I’m not a princess, I don’t really need people to pick it up and pass to me, but anyways…); then I picked up my drink and put it to the movable island cube next to the pick up area, trying to insert the straw to the drink, while I was doing that, a guy (height about 165-170cm) came to me and questioned me, “Why are you putting your drink here?!” I mean, if you guys have so many invisible rules at this shop, my suggestion to you is: put some signs there, make your rules visible. As for the straws, if you don’t want customers to pick up the straws themselves while no staff is standing at the pick up area, then lock the straws up! I am just a customer, I do not work here! I don’t know any of your invisible rules! And if you don’t appreciate your customers and don’t want customers at this shop, might as well lock the doors! Luckily there are so many other Starbucks shops in the downtown area, I can just go to the one down the street next time and will never come back to this one. Unbelievably terrible.

This location sold me a sandwich that they didn’t have in inventory. After waiting 5 minutes to look for the sandwich I asked for, the barista told me that I’d have to settle for a sandwich I didn’t want. For compensation, they gave me a gift card for my next visit but I tried using the gift card at another location and there were $0 funds on it. Another waste of time!
