The menu is fantastic and very diverse. They also offer up gluten and dairy free waffles/vegan. Very friendly and accommodating. delicious and great portions for the price. A wonderful experience.
Best brunch in the city!! Love their waffles and potato waffles, good portions that come with 2 sides. They also do good tacos in the afternoons. It is always consistent and amazing, highly recommend!
The food is amazing, the staff is very attentive. It got a bit noisy because we had a group of 21 women but we really enjoyed it and will come back again
Interesting and tasty menu
Liked the food and ambience
We visited The Starving Artist in Toronto for breakfast and were thoroughly impressed. We tried their breakfast waffles and omelets—both were beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The taste was rich, comforting, and satisfying, just what you’d hope for in a brunch spot. The pricing was fair for the quality and portion size. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed morning meal. A special mention to our server, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and made our experience even better. Definitely a place we’d love to return to!
If you like waffles - this place is foor you. 👌🏻
I order from Starving Artist via Uber a lot, so I was surprised to have such a disappointing experience this afternoon.
Firstly, the wait was too long given that there were only 3-4 tables seating two people each. On each occasion my server came, she forgot our cutlery, even after our food arrived. That prompted me to have to ask for it, to which her response was anything but apologetic, as if I was the one inconveniencing her. On top of that, the poached eggs I ordered were cooked right through. By that time I was starving (no pun intended) so I decided to take the loss and eat my breakfast as is.
I offered this feedback to give to the cook, and rather than offer to make it right or take the eggs off my bill, they continued to charge me for them, which by the way, came to $4 per overcooked poached egg. You'd think paying for a carton worth of eggs would get them properly cooked. Nope.
Shaking my head right now at the lack of conscientiousness for me as a customer. Not sure about the other Starving Artist locations, but definitely not eating here in person again.
Eggs Benedict on waffles, tasted exactly how it should and the servers/cooks were all chill and nice
They allow you to sub vegan waffles for anything on the menu. Unfortunately, (1) most of the speciality waffles have other items making them non vegan/difficult to veganize and (2) the vegan waffles are gummy and dense. I couldn’t eat mine, and wouldn’t come back or recommend. At least the coffee was good?

Great breakfast/brunch option instead of your typical greasy spoon and a great option for a breakfast meeting. Not too noisy on weekdays. I had the BLT waffle with fruits and salad - it is huge! Fresh ingredients all around. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

- The only thing the staff could be faster and they should was and polish the glasses better, they smell like dishwasher :(

The food is still decent, but the portions have gotten smaller.
I asked our server about the coffee options and sizes. She said "We have an expresso machine and you can get a refill" - great!
I order an American (which wasn't great - maybe check your beans or the strength the machine is set to) Later, during the meal, I ask for the refill and receive it.
Upon getting home, I notice I was changed for the refill. Saying "you can get a refill" implies that it free, doesn't it?
I normally wouldn't care, but to get charged extra money without knowing for crap coffee really sucks.
Employees need better training and communication skills.

Some of the worst waffles I’ve eaten. In hindsight, I should have stopped myself from being lazy and just made my signature Belgian waffles at home instead. I had the fried chicken & waffles, which I understand may or may not have been potato-based, but is that an acceptable excuse to serve dense, unappetizing bricks? The fried chicken was also giving KFC minus the extra grease.
On the bright side, the Caesar was enjoyable and spicy (like it should be), and the service was fast.
Omg what happened here now!! I have very good memories 2019. That time everything was clean and service was awesome. Now staff seems like don't care customers, under the table was dirty with food and dirty. I feel sad..
