Uhmm what can I say! They getting a bit big headed. If I am ordering steak and eggs and I want my eggs over hard, why are you telling me that the chef won’t modify it? Are you guys ok? I am the paying customer, yet you want to give me what I don’t want. I am getting tired of these places and Yall want to come an argue with me. Even high end restaurants make exceptions. You need to get your service up to par, because this is ridiculous
Wyck Recommends: Stock Bar (Toronto)
I don’t usually go this hard—but Stock Bar made it easy. I’ve been trying to find something nice to say. Atmosphere? Sure, it’s sexy. But so is a Ferrari in a snowstorm—useless if it can’t perform.
We were seated at the bar, where apparently visibility and service go to die. Two guys next to us were whispering like they were plotting a hostile takeover. The bartender? Fully committed to ignoring us. We finally flagged him down, only to get forgettable bone marrow and a burnt second dish.
Servers were cold, the vibe was pretentious, and the music was loud enough to drown your will to stay. The space is huge, yet somehow they seat you in the tightest, least enjoyable spot to create a fake sense of hype.
No parking—par for the course in midtown. And there’s a bakery downstairs, but that felt like a separate business hiding from the awkwardness upstairs.
Pros:
✔ Looks great in photos—Instagrammers, enjoy
Cons:
✖ Food was a flop—burnt, bland, forgettable
✖ Bar staff were inattentive
✖ Servers felt cold and uninterested
✖ Music was distractingly loud
✖ Cramped seating in a massive room
✖ Parking is a pain
✖ Whole vibe lacked warmth and hospitality
Final Take:
Maybe it was just an off night. But Stock Bar felt like a photoshoot with no soul. If you’re here for ambiance and don’t mind cold service and forgettable food, this might be your scene. Otherwise? There are better places to burn your money and your appetite.

I’m giving 3 stars because this was my second visit this week, and the two experiences were very different.
Earlier in the week, we came for dinner with friends and had a fantastic time. The service was excellent (shoutout to the Brazilian lady, Milena, I believe), the food was incredible, and the entire team was friendly and welcoming.
Unfortunately, today’s visit was a completely different vibe. We ordered the Prime Rib Sunday Roast and specifically asked how it was cooked. The server advised it would be a thick, rare cut, but “rare” was an understatement. The meat was practically raw in the middle, cold at parts, and honestly inedible after eating about half. I enjoy a rare steak, but this wasn’t properly rested or cooked. The Yorkshire pudding was also disappointing, more like bread, and as an Englishman, I can safely say it wasn’t close to a traditional Yorkshire pudding. That said, the mashed potatoes were excellent.
When we raised the issue, the server seemed unsure how to handle it, visibly uncomfortable, and simply asked if we wanted to take it home — not the response you’d expect.
Overall, I’d recommend visiting on any other day of the week, but I would avoid the Sunday Roast.

Last night, I went to Stock with my friends. I go there a lot, but last night we ordered three bottles of white wine with steak, truffle fries, and salad.
A fruit fly fell into my wine glass, and the dark-haired girl replaced it, but she only poured a little bit of wine into my glass. She didn’t even bother to pour as much as there was before.
Even though we ordered such expensive wine, when we mentioned it to her, she just said, “This is all I can do, nothing more,” and walked away.
The fries tasted like old oil and were awful. As a loyal customer who visits Stock frequently, this experience was really disappointing.

The chefs were reluctant to make the eggs as desired and only relented after we asked how hard it could be to let the eggs fry a little longer so it was not sunny side up?! Waitress came back stating they will make an exception this time...so thoughtful! The waitress was good, no complaints there, but I don't understand why they would ask how we like our eggs if they were planning on giving us whatever they like.

4 adults out for a birthday dinner. A few apps to start, pizza was as floppy as a wet napkin 2 out 10. Fried calamari were good portion size 4 people 3 little pieces each . 2 had the chicken 2 had burgers, both good.
Fries are extra sides are extra so not a complete meal unless you pay for all items. Not a fan 5/10 overpriced and average food , your paying for location so I get the cost attached , food wise very average.

Food is good, but they do have an incredibly large menu, its easy to get lost with the amount of dishes they carry/offer. Food is good, nothing bad to say there. It did take a while to get our food, but thats understandable during a busy dinner service. Atmosphere is cute, many different variations of tables and where to sit!
Service on the other hand was absolutely terrible, we had to search for our waitress multiple times, asking other waiters if they could call her over and after the fifth time she came a half hour later meanwhile we were already done our meal. She also didn't even bother checking in with us in the middle of our meal.
Overall if the service aspect doesn't bother you, I would recommend it.

It was really busy and the tables were VERY close together so it was hard to have a romantic dinner but its good for a night out with friends. Pizza was alright to be honest. Overall not bad. Would go again.

I had one of the worst and most unprofessional experiences of my life at a restaurant upon arrival. The management (I think her name was NATASHA )there kicked my friend out of the restaurant without any warning, as she was not feeling well. I know that according to the law, it is allowed that professional and humane behavior is to first give a warning and then kick her out.Hate this restaurant
The service is great and also the atmosphere. We take a pizza, a pasta and a meat. It was a good experience, the meat and pasta were delicious, I didn't like the pizza, but I think the problem was the flavor we chose.
But the stock rocher dessert is amazing.

It’s been a while since my last visit to Stock Bar, but it’s a great spot for mid-size dinners with friends and family. While I recall the food being better in the past, the pastas this time were either under-seasoned or over-seasoned, which was a bit odd. That said, the service was phenomenal—our server was incredibly accommodating and made sure we were all enjoying ourselves. The ricotta e ‘nduja pizza, especially with chili oil, was a fantastic combo. The dessert menu was definitely the highlight—after a filling Italian meal, don’t miss the soufflé au chocolat, crème brûlée, and tiramisu. The soufflé was warm, decadent, and absolutely delicious.

I recently visited Stock with friends and decided to order the steak frites. While the fries were excellent, my experience with the steak was disappointing. Unfortunately, about half of my steak was inedible due to excessive fat. When I mentioned this to the waiter, he simply said that’s the nature of the cut I received.
This left me feeling frustrated, paying for a 10oz steak only to enjoy around 5oz felt unfair. The lack of a satisfactory resolution made it even more disappointing, and I left the meal hungry. To make matters worse, my friend’s steak was much better, which suggests inconsistency in preparation or quality.

Robin is the best. Food is delicious. Great drinks. Beautiful atmosphere. Let's keep this secret. Alec is an amazing bartender and generally a lovely server. The girl at the bakery is amazing. She has the best customer attention to detail. Desserts are unreallll.

This is a popular and trending midtown spot but sadly I think it's overhyped.
First of all, getting into the restaurant itself always feels like a puzzle with no solution. Where to enter/exit has been different each time I've been.
Last time I was there, the hosts were rude and frankly, my family and I felt they were racist. Of course nothing was explicitly said or done, but it's just a feeling and tone you get as people of colour. A white couple was seated before us (family of 4, Asian) *and* before a Black couple, when the white couple arrived after both us and the Black couple. We had a reservation. It started the evening off on a really bad taste. The saving grace was our server Natalia who was absolutely wonderful.
Atmosphere-wise, the dining room is loud and often feels crowded - the tables feel too close together.
The food is good but lots of places in Toronto do good Italian food, so not sure it's worth the sub-par atmosphere when there are better options in the city and even in the area.
Dietary restrictions: They are gluten free friendly.
