Very expensive, staff was very rude

I recently visited the Subway on Centre Island and had a really disappointing experience. I ordered a Teriyaki Chicken footlong and specifically asked for all veggies except pickles. As soon as I said that, the staff member gave me a strange look.

Then, to my surprise, he only added some veggies and missed a whole lots. When i asked for crispy onions his tone changed.

Since I was sharing the sub with a friend, I asked if he could wrap the halves separately. His response? “I'll give you paper, you can wrap it yourself.” 😶 Seriously?

To make things worse, I saw a spider inside the white cheese container. That is absolutely disgusting and raises serious concerns about hygiene and cleanliness.

Not to mention the price—I paid $27 for a footlong and a pop. For that kind of money, I expected way better service and basic courtesy. Extremely poor customer service and an overall unpleasant experience.

If Google allowed negative rating, I’d have done that. Staff is arrogant, keeps talking to each other (at least 5 boys were present in the front doing nothing!). Even after mentioning twice, they did not add enough veggies to our footlong sandwich for which we paid $33!!! Cleanliness is not in their interest, no customer service, no food handling training or experience whatsoever.

I am concerned about the safety of the food. I wanted to buy a sandwich as i waited for the 9pm ferry. The indian man, who was preparing the sandwich not only used the same plastic glove to give me my change, he held all the cash and coin and after did not replace the glove and prepared the sandwich and touched all the ingredients. The vegetables looked all stale. I am not sure how these people are trained. He didnt seem to have basic knowledge of cleanliness of service. I blame the company for not training their employees.

The quantity was insufficient; the bowl wasn't even filled fully. The customer service was poor. I ordered a chicken salad, received a half-filled bowl, and paid $17.28. Additionally, the lettuce was stale, and I had to request a replacement. The hygiene was zero. Terrible experience ever.
