I would encourage families to contact the Hospital Ombudsman, if you are being treated poorly by any employee working at Sickkids Hospital.

Came with my wife who just gave birth, was ordering 2 different subs, employee got frustrated he coulnt multi task and make 2 subs at the same time... we told him we wanted to order the toppings one by one for each sub, he was insisting he can do both..he started rudely saying we cant waste food when, we asked to remove jalapeños from one of the 2 subs, because we forgot she cant eat spicy food after giving birth, the Indian employee started getting upset and threw the toppings rudely and mind u hes not wearing a food net around his beard either...i dont work in the food industry but im sure that's a FOOD SAFETY VIOLATION for not wearing a beard ne, finally we get to order the sub sauces separately and he messed up and put it on both subs and then rudely tells my wife make up your mind.... i got upset he was mistreating her and i went off him and it went down hill from there, profanity was used.overall their people just do what they do best.. should not be working in the food industry.. if you look at the picture you will see the very rude and unhygienic employee sarcastically smiling while using profanity at me.. they wont even let us see the manager either, even when we back with the hospital security the staff were giving excuses saying the manager wasn't available, the subway staff also mentioned he doesnt need a beard net to serve food...

They don’t accept subway coupons. What’s the point of it being a subway then? Give it a different name if it’s gonna be a generic sub shop. Also they didn’t have spinach :(

I had a really disappointing experience at the Subway in SickKids Hospital. I asked for a small bag to put my cookies in, and the employee (1/A/-1026270) told me she would have to charge me because the company was “running low on bags.” This is absolutely ridiculous, especially in a hospital setting where families and patients are already under enough stress.

On top of that, I had to ask her to put on gloves before preparing my sandwich, which is extremely concerning when it comes to food safety and hygiene. Basic cleanliness and customer care should never be something a customer has to request.

For a location inside a children’s hospital, I expected much higher standards. Between the lack of professionalism, poor customer service, and questionable food safety practices, I will not be returning to this Subway and cannot recommend it to anyone else.

Worst experience at this subway. I got footlong and asked one of the employee to cut the sub in half she refused and then i asked to grill the sandwich and she refused that too and showed me attitude do not go there employees are very rude there

One of the worst experience with subway. I just asked some an employee to change the gloves as she was preparing some non-veg sandwich and I wanted the veggies delight. And she was literally rude and showing attitude towards me. And expecting me to tell her to change the gloves. If you are switching between non-veg and veggies options, it's your responsibility to change the gloves and if you haven't, and someone asked for that, you would never be rude. Subway should take this seriously as it impacts it's overall reputation.

Don't go here if you want any extra toppings. They refused to give me extra pickles and said they can only give 3 extra, barely had any on the sub. This is the same sub I've been ordering for 18 years, seems they are getting cheap. Didn't end up buying anything and walked away with the partially made sub sitting on the counter. Considering this location is at a hospital for sick children, give the damn toppings. Will never return to this location. Would not recommend.

Being in a hospital is already emotionally difficult, especially when visiting sick loved ones. The last thing anyone should have to deal with is being treated poorly while simply trying to get food. I was shocked and deeply disappointed when I was treated with disrespect by a Subway employee for politely requesting that my food be cut with a clean knife. Their response was completely uncalled for, including being sworn at.

If you're working at a fast food location inside a hospital, basic empathy and respect should be a given. I asked for the employee's name and the manager’s name, but they refused to provide either. Judging by other reviews, it seems I’m not the only one who has experienced this kind of behavior. Subway really needs to address this issue and ensure their staff treats customers with the decency they deserve—especially in a hospital setting where people are already under a great deal of stress

Sick kids location is the rudest and worst experience I have ever had at any subway. Ordered a 12 inch sub for my twins. They refused to give us an extra subway wrapper so that I could split the sandwich for my twins. I asked to buy an extra wrapper to split the sandwich, they refused. I have no words. Pathetic customer service. Because of this experience I won’t go to any Subway locations period. Head office should look into the way this franchise runs it’s business. They lost a customer for life.

Dear Subway Management,
I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the service I received at your Subway location within SickKids Hospital on January 31, 2025, at approximately 9:30 pm.

I was already having a difficult day with my children when my daughter requested Subway. Unfortunately, the staff member who assisted us was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I asked for the sandwich to be wrapped in two pieces, she refused and told me to buy food elsewhere. To my shock, she then threw the food in the garbage right in front of me. This behavior was not only disrespectful but also deeply upsetting, especially in a hospital setting where parents and families are already under significant emotional and physical strain.

It is unacceptable for any customer—let alone a parent with a sick child—to be treated this way. I strongly urge Subway’s management to address this matter immediately by reinforcing customer service training, with a focus on professionalism, empathy, and respect.

I would appreciate a prompt response outlining the steps being taken to prevent such incidents in the future. No family should have to experience such unnecessary distress while already facing difficult circumstances.

Hello, twice at this location I have watched staff refuse to wrap a footlong as two six inches for parent's and children sharing a meal. When asked why staff just said "they can't do it". The kids are in the hospital, give them a break...
