I finally went to SugarKane after hearing about it for so long. My friends and I were celebrating a birthday. It was a great time. The server Z was great, and the food was very, very good. Definitely exceeded my expectations! You don’t know how many times people say restaurants are good and then I go there and I’m like ummmm yeah no 😭

The jerk chicken was ACTUALLY spicy which we loved.

The classic margarita actually had alcohol in it (lol, crazy how this needs to be mentioned) but I definitely got a good amount of tequila in it.

The owner and crew came over and they all sang happy birthday to my friend and it was so lovely. It was genuinely good vibes all around which is so rare. The only thing I would say is it was a tad bit dark which it gets dark early these days, but the light couldn’t go up anymore.

I was surprised that they had Kawartha dairy ice cream which is my favourite ice cream. I hope that they can get more flavours not just French vanilla if they can add a cookies and cream that would be amazing.

I can’t wait to go back and I hope my next visit is just as good!

2025 December 3.5★
A nice Caribbean restaurant in the area. Seating for about 35. Live music Saturday after 7pm. Street parking available within walking distance.

Caribbean crab soup 18
A nice flavored soup with crab meat, potatoes, carrots etc. Might be a seasonal item. Was pretty good.

Santa's Secret 15
whiskey cocktail - was ok

Blue Island 16
Tasted like Pina colada.

Uncle Ben's Salt Fish Cakes 18
Minced and fried. Personally, a bit doughy.

Jerk Chicken Fettuccine 28
Jerk Chicken breast with fettuccine in a nice creamy and little bit spicy sauce. While the pasta and sauce was good, the chicken breast was too dry.

Jerk Chicken Leg add on 9
The jerk Chicken leg on the other hand was pretty good. Lots of flavors. Just a bit smaller.

Braised Oxtail Bowl 30
Richly braised ox tail with the usual coleslaw and plantain. The meat was tender and decent. Cole slaw was good, the Rice was good, the plantain was ok.

Overall, a bit saltier, but that's an individual assesment. There's a lot of spices in the dishes and it's decent.

SUGAR KANE has my heart! Caribbean vibes for this Canadian born girlie. I came on a Saturday, live music from Mr Ray Robinson himself! Such good vibes. I had the N’lins Hurricane drink (don’t mind the spelling I don’t have the drink menu infront of me…) and the crab soup! I’m definitely coming back for a Mommy Daughter date. The decor. The music. It even smells like Jamaica when they cook some of the foods. They have a really cool door that’s raised to almost mimic the feel of sitting on the beach and enjoying fresh seafood! RUN over to SUGAR KANE…DO NOT WALK! Also…ask for Jody…he’s polite and easy on the eyes ladies! ;)

Sugar Kane is hands down my favorite Caribbean Creole restaurant in Toronto. From the moment you walk in you are not just a customer you are family. The warm welcome the genuine hospitality and the consistent check ins to make sure you are not only enjoying your meal but truly enjoying the experience are top tier.

I ordered my usual the Jerk Chicken Bowl and let me just say chefs kiss all day every day. Flavor on flavor on flavor. They never miss ever.

My friend ordered the oxtail bowl and tried way too hard to be polite and save some for later. Ha Not a chance. That bowl did not stand a chance.

Sugar Kane is one of those places I will recommend again and again because they are consistently excellent and never disappoint. Oh and did I mention they had live music Yes that sealed the deal.

I love Sugar Kane. Period.

Went to Sugar Kane Restaurant tonight with my wife to celebrate a belated birthday, and it was an amazing experience. The food was incredible and the service was top tier. My wife had the Cajun chicken pasta and I had the crispy Cajun catfish. The catfish was cooked perfectly, and the mashed potatoes had so much flavour with a little kick. Our server was awesome, and the owners even came by to check in and make sure we were good, which was a really nice touch. They also had a Toronto Man's Santa, which was great, and the birthday song felt special when the staff came over and sang. The music and vibe were on point too, honestly YouTube worthy. This was my third time here and it keeps getting better. I’ll definitely be back and I highly recommend.

We did a double date night. Food is wonderful atmosphere was spot on. Music was perfect. One of the 3 sister owner's come out to greet and check on us. She was sweet and personable. She did not rush. She chatted and told us about her and her family. Then asked us about us. Definitely going back soon. Look at our delicious food.

Last night our management team had a great experonce at Sugar Kane. Jody, the amosphere, food and musoc was amazing. I reccommend ordering the blackened salmon dinner.

It is often difficult to get a reservation on the weekend, because the spot is cozy. Meetong one of the owners was also great.

SugarKane is a vibrant Caribbean culinary experience not to be missed! I called the day of for dinner and was happy that were able to take a 1-person walk in. The music was great and the hospitality was appreciated. As a sorrel enthusiast, I was thrilled that the Sorrel Mojito was as perfectly refreshing and flavorful as I'd hoped. However, the real star was the Blackened Salmon – it completely surprised me with its exquisite blend of spices and tender, flaky texture. Every bite was a delightful journey of Caribbean flavors. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and will absolutely be back for more of SugarKane's delicious offerings!

Went yesterday for my partner & I’s three year anniversary and it was such a great night - from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Our server Faton made our anniversary so special and he & the owner brought us prosecco to celebrate. The food was phenomenal and we’ll definitely be back ❤️

The best burger I have ever eaten, overall the service and the food is amazing. And that’s coming from a Jamaican who is very picky when it comes to food, because I am a pretty good cook myself.
