Excellent service and high quality Thai fried rice.
pretty bad food. Had the crispy spring rolls - not good and neither was the Khao soi
Got bad stomach after eating here, not recommended!
Authentic Thai food with great flavors overall. I've noticed the quality might not be quite as good as it used to be, but it's still pretty tasty and satisfying. The dishes have that familiar Thai taste I enjoy, and it remains one of my go-to spots when I'm craving Thai cuisine. Still a solid options in my books.
Sukhothai is usually my go-to, but today’s experience was disappointing. The service felt rushed and passive. A server removed our plate without checking, even though we were saving the sauce, and mistakenly brought us a dish we didn’t order. We requested the protein on the side, but the server said it had to be made together—something they’ve accommodated in the past. When we asked for coconut milk to tone down a very spicy curry (even offering to pay extra), they refused. Normally, they’re happy to accommodate. We paid in full but left unsatisfied—poor service and inflexible staff made for an unfortunate visit.
I asked a simple question about elevator access, and the front-of-house guy treated me like I was invisible—walked off mid-conversation to help someone else, then continued serving people who arrived after me. When I asked for a manager (thinking surely someone here knows how to act like a grown-up), the manager outdid him in rudeness. Apparently, hospitality here is just a suggestion. Bizarre customer service, unless the goal is to make guests feel unwelcome. Nailed that part!
The quality went down so much :(
A rustic and authentic Thai restaurant. Excellent food and very helpful staff.
Good place with a nice ambience... The khao soyi was very nice with crispy noodles and flavorful broth.... The pad thai was thai spicy and ultra spicy flavour... We also ordered the blue Hawaiian and long island tea... Both tasted as they were supposed to be... The server was nice and explained how the food and drinks were supposed to be.... I liked it. The menu is not extravagant but with good enough varieties...
We usually do take-out from this place but, we decided to visit this restaurant in person to experience the dining experience. It’s located nearby the St. Lawrence Market building and walking distance from the financial district and Union Station. This place is slightly hidden between buildings so, you just have to pay attention as you look for their entrance. A few steps up to the dining room, we were greeted by someone and we were seated immediately. It was an early lunch so, not busy during that time. The server came by with menus and was kind to explain things to us if we needed help. The food was delicious, even more so as it is eaten fresh (not covered for a period of time as it gets delivered to our home). We then got “kicked out” due to it being busy on a Friday evening service approaching. They weren’t rude about it but, the feeling was not great. Overall, pretty chill vibes, good food, and cozy atmosphere. I’d definitely recommend this place, perhaps make a reservation if you plan on visiting during peak hours, especially the weekend.
Restaurantji Recommends
It was said on call that they will take last order by 2:30 PM and when we arrived by 2:30, they refused to take order and let us sit. It is highly unethical of them to commit to something and then refuse.
Forcing tips!
It is acceptable to leave a tip, but service providers should be clear about tipping policies and maintain a professional attitude regardless of whether a customer chooses to tip. You cannot come upto our table and ask why we didnt tip
their Khao soi was amazing! i’ve been here multiple times and every single item is so good. definitely coming back for more
Pad thai is overpriced for the quality you're getting.
Food wise not bad but definitely won’t wow you. Food price is reasonable. BUT, there is one thing that triggers me not gonna go again is that they already put 18% tips to the bill and the machine still asks 18%+ tips. I only get my receipt after paying double tips. Feels like being cheated.
