I thought the ‘Gen Z stare’ was a myth born on TikTok, turns out it’s alive and well behind the counter. Do not like the girl there on the weekends which is when I pass by, the arrogance is palpable. The coffee itself is very mid-tier drinkable, but nothing memorable or worth going out of your way for, I know it's the only one in that area of Regent Park but I'd buy a Breville if it was my only option in the area.

Fav coffee place in Regent park neighborhood. The staff are so warm and welcoming, coffee is great, and good spot to just watch things go by. I’m a regular so I’m biased

Some of the best priced expresso in the city. Perfect treat for a bad morning.

My coworker and I were looking for a quick coffee stop and the building we were heading to only had one nearby which is Sumach Espresso. The place was already quite busy around 9 in the morning that made me think it must be really good. Inside, it was a bit hard to find a seat and the menu was a little confusing at first.

Thankfully, the staff at the counter was very kind and helped me choose how I wanted my coffee. I ordered an iced coffee and a banana bread while my coworker got a hot matcha latte and a plain croissant. The drinks and pastries were okay.. nothing too special and a bit pricey for the portion size (even the large drink felt small).

Overall, it wasn’t bad for a first try but it didn’t really stand out enough for me to come back.

PS. I forgot to take a pictures of what we've ordered since we left the place because it was too uncomfy to relax over there.

I've walked past Sumach Coffee countless times, always promising myself I'd stop in, and I'm so glad I finally did. This spot is everything you want in a local coffee shop—it truly is a lovely neighbourhood gem.

The atmosphere is immediately relaxed and inviting, making it a solid contender if you're looking for a spot to settle in and work for a few hours.

There are great seating options, whether you prefer the casual indoor vibe, the fresh air of the outside patio, or the unique spots provided by their street-side parkette.

The coffee itself was excellent. I ordered an Americano, and it was perfectly pulled—a great start to the day. To go with it, I tried one of their savory pastries, and it was exactly the perfect, delicious bite to complement the drink.

If you're looking for quality coffee, and a great place to sit back and watch the world go by, Sumach Coffee should be your next stop.

If there was any other coffee spot in the area I wouldn’t have even gone here again. As a former barista I get having an off day or someone catching you in a bad minute but I’ve had multiple negative interactions with the woman behind the cash/barista. She seems to be irritated by everyone & everything, which is good & dandy but maybe don't get a job that requires you to interact with humans. Coffee is fine, it’s just not a friendly or welcoming place with her attitude.

I LOVE this neighbourhood coffee shop! It's a great spot to meet up with friends, catch up on some work, enjoy a latte with delicious pressed wrapped sandwich. The energy is friendly, lively, and connected.

Unwelcoming, they don’t accept Amex or $100 bills.

Was in the neighborhood and have driven by this place many times. Finally tried it out. It was nicely occupied with patrons outside tables and inside tables. Definitely a local joint feel. I had a Flat White. I usually assess the cafe by their care and craft of the drink. The Flat White was too hot as this drink only needs steamed milk. Steamed too hot, it loses its sweetness and milk overpowers the coffee. This was the case. The cafe offered quite a plenty of treats to accompany the drink. I did not order however the patron before me ordered a lot indicating that they have solid treats. If you want non pretentious cafe with casual vibe this is the place you can try out.

Nice place to hang out with your dog. Slow pace. Neighborhood feel. Great coffee. Outdoor seating isn’t comfy but the vibe is neat.

Matcha is not good at all! Taste like only milk as you can see from the color

I can’t tell you how much I adore this coffee shop. The coffee is amazing, the service is always top tier and all the workers are just so efficient yet still deliver top quality drink. Also can we talk about how good the prices are?? You don’t see those types of prices anymore at any other coffee shops. I always recommend this place to anyone looking for a cute and good coffee shop

Some people describe this as a great weekend spot. I think it’s great all the time for the same reasons that they like it.
The coffee is excellent compared to other places I have been to. The atmosphere and vibe is just right and they have absolutely wonderful staff. Congratulations to all.
