We had high hopes for Sunnys Chinese since we really enjoyed Mimi’s and Linny’s, which are from the same team. Unfortunately, Sunnys was disappointing. The service was not friendly, and the food was mediocre at best. Some dishes were far too salty, while others didn’t stand out at all. Overall, it didn’t come close to the quality or experience of their other restaurants. I’d personally skip this one.
The restaurant is hidden near Exile thrift shop, in case anyone gets as lost as I did! It was worth the confusion though! The cute retro diner style was a pleasant surprise and, though a bit dark for my liking, was very comfortable. The food did take a fair amount of time to start arriving, but the restaurant was just opening, so I won't take that as a given when I return in the future. My friend had brought me and she suggesting ordering three dishes between the two of us...
Amazing staff and vibe!
The HK French toast was nice, but far too sweet for me. The toast itself was lovely and crunchy.
I liked the concept though with the sesame paste.
