Very polite staff, very good pork bone soup
I came here with my boyfriend, and we were both blown away by the experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt incredibly warm and welcoming—it set the tone for a great meal.
The food was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the BBQ beef short ribs—they were tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every dish we tried was well-prepared and delicious, making it a memorable dining experience.
Sunrise House Korean Restaurant – A Hidden Gem with Room to Grow
If you’re on the hunt for a hearty Korean barbecue experience without breaking the bank, Sunrise House might just be your next go-to. Tucked into a quieter corner of the neighborhood, this small, long-standing restaurant may not have the flash of its newer, more polished competitors, but what it lacks in glitz, it makes up for in affordability and promise.
The real star of the menu is the beef ribs barbecue – tender, flavorful, and grilled to smoky perfection. It’s a dish that truly holds its own against what you’ll find in fancier spots nearby, and at a noticeably lower price. In a time when many Korean joints are leaning heavily into upscale vibes and upscale prices, Sunrise House keeps it real – and much more budget-friendly.
However, it’s not without its shortcomings. The side dishes – a staple of any Korean meal – fall a bit flat. They’re neither particularly tasty nor visually appealing, and could definitely use some love in both presentation and flavor. The overall ambience also leaves much to be desired. The space feels dated, with worn-out furniture, faded paint, and a restroom that’s long overdue for a serious upgrade.
Still, there’s a certain charm in its humble longevity. Sunrise House has been serving the community longer than many of the trendy establishments that now surround it, and it shows in its no-nonsense approach to food and service. With some renovation and culinary refinement, this place has the potential to rise and match – if not surpass – its newer rivals.
Verdict: Come for the beef ribs and the budget-friendly prices. Stay if you appreciate no-frills dining with potential. But don’t expect modern interiors or standout side dishes – at least not yet.
The pork bone soup was so bland I had to pack it up and take it home to add my own spices & perilla seeds. Even the side dishes were bad. I don't even usually leave bad reviews but I just had to bc this was so shockingly bad compared to when I last went 3 years ago
A quick disclaimer that I'm Korean and can be picky with dining out for Korean food. I bought the yuk-gye-jang (육계장) and steamed dumplings and I was disappointed for 3 reasons.
1. The soup, yuk-gye-jang, was pretty good at first sip and was pretty hearty/generous in portion. But then it began to taste like instant ramen seasoning (think, shin ramen).
2. The dumplings were tasteless, I had 1 out of 6 or 8 pieces (cannot remember the total number of pieces).
3. The side dishes weren't good. Especially the kimchi wasn't good.
I want to support local Korean businesses but I also wanted to write an honest review for other diners.
Really good food and good prices. The hosts are really friendly and accommodating as well. Will definitely come again!
Delicious food and great service
I really loved Korean Seafood Pancake. I would come here again. The owner is sweet and welcoming. The price was reasonable and good portion too. I loved how authentic the taste is.
Adorable mom and pop place with GREAT portions. I ordered the bulgogi and the rice and beef ratio was perfectly equal, such a huge plate especially for the price. Every dish was like under 20 bucks. They also offer more side dishes once u finish them which is always a huge plus :)) service was amazing!
Really incredible, authentic, and great price, huge portions

Humble family style food, good value. Pork bone soup is great.
The value, portion and taste proportion just can’t be beat.
They didn’t not raise their price by much!
Look at the amount of meat for $17.99
My new favorite Korean restaurant. The food was amazing. Bulgogi beef and squid was perfect.
