The food was great! Very tasty, generous portion. I’m probably not going to order here again though, the staff were quite unfriendly and unhelpful. It’s okay to not smile all the time in a stressful job, but they were downright rude when I was just asking for less spicier options. I can recommend it to people who doesn’t care about customer service🙂

The quality of its staff is as awful as its food. Pay attention or they'll fill your food container with more sauce than food. After you pay, they won't even hand the food container to you, but make a miserable face and walk away.

Food is good, but the staff is rude and disrespectful.

Your food isn't good enough for how poorly your staff treats people. Staff Mark things are ready and haven't even started them and then treat delivery people and people waiting for pick ups poorly because they've done something wrong... It's not a good look

Szechuan Express at First Canadian Place – A Mixed Experience

I recently tried Szechuan Express at First Canadian Place, and while the food had some highlights, the overall experience was a bit of a mixed bag.

The food itself was enjoyable. I ordered a chicken dish, and it was perfectly spicy—just the way I like it. The portion size was generous, which made it feel like good value for the price. However, the food was noticeably salty, which slightly overshadowed the otherwise bold and flavorful spices.

Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. The staff weren’t particularly welcoming or friendly, and their tone came off as rude. It felt like they were more focused on rushing through orders than ensuring a pleasant customer experience, which was disappointing.

While I appreciated the quality and portion size of the food, the unprofessional service took away from the overall experience. Szechuan Express has potential, especially for those who enjoy spicy dishes and generous servings, but they could greatly improve by focusing on better customer service.

If you’re in the area and craving a quick and spicy meal, it’s worth a try, but don’t expect the friendliest service. Hopefully, they can address this in the future to make the experience more enjoyable.

Rude Chinese speaking and screaming personal. I was really shocked by atmosphere while I was choosing what to order. They are rude from the eye contact to the receipt.
Nothing special, they put everything spicy 🥵, didn't ask any questions. Seafood - no options, shrimp or fish, they cans explain properly, start screaming on me , as I can't understand heavy Chinese accent and actually didn't get whay they angry after my questions.
Please replace them with robots, machines, at least the machine no judge you , and speak English.

November 27.

P.S. this location was nice and friendly. Me and my husband working in downtown, and the clients since 2008. Was nice , then so-so (I didn't ordered for a long time), now even worse.....

Rude. Miserable. Staff. This is what you will come across with when you’re visiting this place. For no reason at all, workers will interact in the most unpleasant manner. They just choose to be obnoxious. It’s in my prayers that they may find happiness in every aspect of their lives.

Bad chinese food, not worth price. It's like if you asked a non-chinese person what chinese food tastes like and that's what this is.

Disappointing experience. The rice looked like the one you heat in the microwave. Horrible.
