Worst customer service I have ever had. The staff were so unprofessional and rude and the food was so bad as if it was spoilt

The worst customer service experience i ever had. The food quality was awful. Upon complaining the response was really rude and unprofessional. Waste of money.

It would be better if they can make discount (like after 5pm) in order to sell all the food or pack them into boxed before closing. (To avoid lineup issues at the night time)
-
The hot & sour soup was pretty good (the only thing I was concerned was the soup tastes pretty spicy?)
-
The food was pretty mid, I can only find a piece of carrot among the whole bowl?which is the only thing which matters to me.
PS: upon all the factors that I’ve mentioned, I would say 3.5 stars but the google review doesn’t allow me to click the remaining half stars so ya..

I've seen some pretty bad reviews on this place, so I thought I'd share my most recent experience here from last week (August 30 2024). Let me preface this by saying that I only order the same thing every time. The food can be hit or miss, I know from personal experience and friends telling me, but I found a delicious combo on my first try at this place and have kept ordering it ever since.
The combo I always get and recommend is the Stir-fry Ho Fun Noodles as base + Black Bean Chicken on top. This is a Combo 4 $10.50 pre-tax as of this review, and was a good portion considering the price (i.e. it filled me up just fine for a midday meal). The ho fun noodles are not dry (unlike some other places I've had) and have a good, even colour and wok hei aroma, and the sauce from the Black Bean Chicken coats the noodles perfectly in a savoury glaze with deep flavour. Con is that the chicken was a little dry, but it was definitely fresh (would've preferred beef). Additionally, the Black Bean Chicken has chunks of green pepper in it which were cooked soft with no crunch but not mushy; I personally liked them cooked this way since green pepper flavour can overpower the rest if undercooked/raw, so to me everything aside from the chicken was perfectly cooked. If this place only sold this combo, I would've given it 4 stars (5 stars - 1 star for dry chicken). It's the most convenient place for me to fix my craving for black bean beef ho fun noodles as a student, for location and price. Most places have beef ho fun noodles but no black bean sauce which coats the noodles, unless you go to a nicer $$ sit down restaurant, so this place is a gem to me (aside from the fact that they only have Black Bean CHICKEN and not beef).
I have also tried the dim sum here a few times. I have tried 3 dim sum: the Shrimp Har Gow, Pork Siu Mai, and Pan-fried Pork Dumplings. The Shrimp Har Gow and Pork Siu Mai are a yes from me—good and made fresh, with the only con being that I once had to wait 20 minutes for a new batch (this was 1 hour after opening; but it was worth it for them to come piping hot with fresh wrappers). I would give the har gow and siu mai 4.5 stars for taste - 0.5 stars for price value to quality = 4 stars. However, I DO NOT RECOMMEND the Pan-fried Pork Dumplings; they had a burnt oil taste, dry, and were overall unpleasant. A review from Anton Pinchuk (3 days ago) shows me that nothing has changed since I last had them (which was February 2023); I can verify that those pictures are accurate and taste as burnt as they look. I would recommend avoiding all deep-fried foods here and agree with all the reviews on this point.
Regarding service, I see some mixed reviews here. I personally have never had a bad experience, only average to good service (typical of a Chinese fast food place), though disclaimer, I am Asian (don't know if this is a factor in server's attitude considering other people's reviews; could also be that I am just used to/more tolerant of typical Chinese "bad" service). I mean, if you're expecting Western-level food service from ANY Chinese fast food place, you are setting yourself up for disappointment; this is the best you're gonna get from Chinese aunties. Anyway, I haven't seen a difference between this place and any other Chinese fast food place when it comes to service (including Shanghai 360 and Ruby Thai in the same food court). Service gets 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars. Atmosphere is 3 stars (average/typical).
I want my review to be as fair and impartial as possible, so I can't rate this place higher than 3 stars. That is taking everything into account. The things I like (recommended dishes) I would rate 4 stars, but 1 star penalty for the quality of deep fried foods = 3 stars. I can't fully recommend this place, I can only recommend my specific order since I've had it many times and it has been the same (good) quality every time, so I am confident enough

Sometimes the body wants junkie food. The deep fried dumplings attracted my attention. I wish to find more meat inside. Instead I've found heartburn in my stomach.

Would never order from here again. The staff was not professional at all. I've never encountered such poor customer service! The restaurant is highly unprofessional. They keep people that don't understand English and as a result he made a mess of is food. Pathetic customer service. How come this store is still open despite such terrible reviews? !!!!!!

Go to Ruby Thai instead. Most unfriendly servers in the food court. Food is ok but super oily. Just as tasty items at Ruby Thai or Bourbon St. and for better prices.
Got crispy beef and chili chicken w/ veg. Beef was oversaturated with oil and not crispy. Chicken wasn't spicy at all and veggies had no taste whatsoever.
This review is also after their renovations. Same low-effort service but higher prices per serving. They also charge extra for seafood now.

This is a review of the wonton noodles at Szechuan Express in the Eaton Centre food court.
With tax comes to 12.50, does not ask you to tip.
6 yummy pieces of shrimp wontons, ample veg (broccoli and bok choy), just chewy enough egg noodles. Tasty broth not oily. Will give you chili oil on request. Whenever I get a craving this is my go to, can’t beat this price for good eats.
Very clean food court. Lunch time seating is limited but opening time or up to 1130 weekdays should find a seat.
