This is a Filipino restaurant, and the name seems to have been changed. The signature is no longer Tala.
There were 5 of us in total, and we ordered a set meal of about 25CAD. The dining experience was very special. The ingredients were arranged in a row and placed on a large palm leaf.
The merchant provides gloves ? to eat food with your hands, so it doesn’t feel awkward and is quite fun.
A variety of ingredients and fruits are placed on the rice, which looks very rich.
Let’s talk about the shortcomings first. Our experience this time was that the black fish was too burnt. Although the skin could be peeled off, the seasoning was too salty, and the mussels were lightly seasoned.
The other ingredients were pretty good, although the squid could have been cooked a little longer to make it crispier, but it was okay. The shrimps and roasted pork are very fresh, and my friends in the same group all like them. Grilled okra and mango are also my favorite items. The most amazing thing is the seemingly ordinary rice. It is seasoned spice rice. The portion is sufficient and the taste is rich. It is delicious!
The store is small but has a nice place to hang your coats, and the service is quite satisfactory. I highly recommend sharing it with friends.

Absolutely loved Tala, had a great time sharing a meal with my friends. Great value.PSA: If you're uncomfortable with bees, avoid eating outside in the summer. There's lot of sweet to attract them.

Unbelievably great! I come from Filipino heritage on my mother’s side, but it’s difficult to get true Filipino cooking where I live in Maryland (USA) — so in Toronto I was on the hunt for some good cookin’ from the Philippines! ??It worked out that we found Tala on our last night in town, and it couldn’t have been a better first restaurant experience! The kumayan that my fiancée and I shared was INCREDIBLE!!! The presentation was unreal, and quickly became the most authentic Filipino food experience I’ve had outside of family gatherings. The milkfish was full of flavor, and cooked perfectly. The rice was simple, salty, and we couldn’t get enough. The squid was great in small bites — coming from folk that aren’t big into squid (they’re just too smart, so it feels bad). The okra, eggplant, pork belly, mussels.. everything was just really great and I can’t say anything but good things!Staff was very friendly, and helpful in us having this great experience — so salamat! Masarap masarap ?

I ordered 4 individual kamayan from Tala for a park picnic. It was the perfect dish for a celebratory park dinner: tons of variety, a beautiful presentation, and all contained in one box- so less waste and no fussing with multiple containers. They had to sit in the car for 2+ hours, and when we finally got to them they were still delicious! The squid especially was fantastic: both tender and slightly creamy. My partner discovered he likes milkfish/bangus through the kamayan box, and a friend discovered garlic rice!I highly recommend picking up extra pork skewers if you're considering it, the sauce is fantastic. And this goes without saying: you need lumpia too. Lots of lumpia.

The kamayan feast had great flavours, with a nice variety of seafood and meat. Would recommend ordering the chicken as it had a nice char and was very flavourful, but not dry.

Friendly service and very flavourful food! Got the kamayan feast for 2 and was pretty happy with it, but found some of the chicken to be a bit on the drier side and didn't enjoy the okra (though this might just be a personal preference). Also ordered the shrimp lumpia but think that they were pretty small and underwhelming for the price, so I would pass on that. Overall it's a great option for sharing with your family if you're looking to shake up your typical takeout!

Great homestyle Filipino food! It definitely satisfied my cravings! We got the kamayan kit with chicken and pork lumpia, the kamayan was great with a lot of variety and the pork lumpia was ?. Will definitely return to try other menu items whenever I'm missing Filipino food.

Ordered Tapsilog and missing the marinated beef.

Had the feast for 2 and it was incredible. Everything on the platter was delicious. I'll definitely be ordering from here again!
