Gluten free heaven!!!!
There is no way you can differentiate from a non gluten free to this gluten free specimen of pure pleasure.
Place is clean. Nicely merchandised. Family owned and operated.
Food is excellent and reasonably priced.
Service. Lovely, friendly and knowledgeable.
I would certainly go out of my way to pick up tarts at this pace. It is a destination location.
Would I come back again - absolutely yes!!
I tried the pecan butter tart, that's very delicious and cheap, I recommend it !
The Tartistry is a fun concept, great location, and an opportunity for GF folk to try baked goods that are typically not safe. They had ingredient lists for all their products and were able to answer allergen questions. The savory tarts were all frozen, so we got some to go; although they could have heated them for us, it just would have taken time. I had the chicken tourtiere and my husband had the butter chicken, both were excellent. We also got a couple butter tarts and a scone. The flavors and textures of all the food was good! We'd definitely go back next time we're in the area.
I’m gluten free and these are the tastiest tarts I’ve ever eaten! The person running the shop is also really pleasant. I cannot recommend this place more highly. This place is a must for anyone gluten free and I highly recommend it to anyone else.
Absolutely perfectly made. Wide variety of flavors.
I work at the construction site right by this place. Stopped on my way home yesterday, ended up eating 3 of the 6 tarts i bought before i even left the parking lot. Hands down some of the best butter tarts ive ever had in my life. 100% recommended the penutbutter cup and smores tarts, simply incredible
*edit* tried the scotch one. Absolutely incredible, changed my life
Really cute shop for gluten free pastries! The butter chicken tart is delicious, and the person working that day was so friendly and helpful!
Solid vegan and gluten feee baked goods!! Had some gluten free butter tarts
Was on the hunt for distinctly Canadian food stuffs. Butter tart was suggested. I didn't fancy the ones in St Lawrence Market as they looked really dense with very thick pastry. After some research I came here.
No regrets. The tart crust was thin, kept in shape, but also crumbled. The filling was not overly sweet, buttery, soft and a little gooey to give it a bit of chew.
I had the plain, and the maple walnut flavors. Both good but definitely don't skip the original.
As I was visiting during the Distillery District Christmas festival, the atmosphere was pretty jolly.
At the time, it was $4 a tart. Usual discount if batch buy but as I was traveling solo, I way I could manage more than two a time!

Tartistry in the distillery district in downtown Toronto is an absolute gem & a must-visit for anyone who appreciates exquisite gluten-free pastries. From the moment you approach the counter, you’re greeted with a delightful aroma & a sense of comfort that feels like a hug from your favourite bakery.
The tarts here are nothing short of magical—each one is a masterpiece, beautifully crafted with flavours that are both innovative & comforting. Whether you’re indulging in a classic lemon tart or one of their unique seasonal creations, every bite is a revelation. The attention to detail in both presentation & taste is evident in every delicious morsel.
But it’s not just the tarts that make Tartistry special. The staff are incredibly friendly & passionate about their craft, making every visit a personal & memorable experience. Their enthusiasm & knowledge about their creations make you feel like a valued guest, not just a customer.

Food was meh. But the service there is garbage. The lady who was supposed to serve us gave us so much attitude about questions or recommendations.

Love the name and you're definitely a tartist! The lemon curd was delicious. Perfect little treat. Thank you!
As tourists we’ve seen butter tarts everywhere we’ve been this week but had to keep walking as our two celiac children wouldn’t be able to have them. Imagine my delight when I stumbled across these tarts that were not just gluten free but EVERYTHING was gluten free, so they could literally have anything. This never happens! Having never tasted a butter tart we decided to order four plain ones despite the big range of very tempting flavours. Wow, just wow!!! These tarts are absolutely delicious! I need to know the secret! My 15 year old son told me I NEED to make them at home. I have no idea how but I’ll do my best! The pastry as well, how on earth have they made gluten free pastry taste that good??? The Distillery District was the perfect setting to enjoy them too, the some was shining, the singers were singing, the atmosphere was incredible :)
I was looking for a quick lunch in the Distillery and I was very happy to see delicious vegan options! I was helped by a purple haired person who was delightful and helped me get what I want! And the vegan blueberry cheesecake is so MOIST! Just like they said! Thank you so much, I am looking forward to coming back
