I had the signature breakfast bendwich and I'm sorry to say it wasn't quite their for me. The bread was dry and pasty (パサパサしている), nothing like actual Japaneee milk bread which stays soft and moist inside when toasted. Of course maybe they weren't going for Japanese style bread and I assumed that from the play on sando -> bendo and the katsu. it wasn't just that tho. It just wasn't that tasty sadly. I don't know what was missing but I've had lots of variations of egg, cheese, ham/bacon on some kind of bread and this particular one was below the average

Hidden gem! Stopped in on a whim for a half BCT (bacon, cabbage & tomato) on a Sunday evening and it was fresh, crispy, light-yet-hearty and really delicious. And the couple who run it were so friendly and nice. Will absolutely come back to try their other sandwiches.

I was craving a grilled cheese and was fortunate this was so close to the university. Decided to give it a try and am so happy I did. This is a grilled cheese that cannot be replicated-the exact thing you want when you eat out. The bread is fantastic, perfectly grilled and seasoned to perfection after grilled (flakes of salt and herbs that had me licking my fingers!!!) I love that they also offer half sandwiches if you want to keep it lighter. Brown butter chocolate chip was delicious, too. Not too sweet which I think is perfect. Cannot wait to come back for more.

My friend and I were looking for a place to eat sth. We saw this restaurant and we came in without knowing what it was. And we were pleasantly surprised by the food which was very good and the fantastic welcome.
all the food here is INCREDIBLE, and so fresh! the katsu meat is so tender and juicy, paired with the sauce and the toasted bread is so perfect. that bread is so good!! the cookies are also amazing, the biscones hit the spot, and oh my god the icecream is delicious!!

Absolutely incredible!!! I was lured in after seeing their grilled cheese photos from the street, so glad I stopped by. Their grilled cheese is INCREDIBLE!! Chewy, crispy cheese inside soft Asian style bread with a perfect buttery crunch. It is so unique and so delicious - they literally grill and crisp up the cheese itself on the inside. And they offer a half portion which is just right!
Their biscuit scones were absolutely AMAZING. Probably one of the best scones I’ve had, and I go to London frequently. So far I had the honey butter which was just perfect, just the right about of sweet honey flavor throughout, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The best part is they sell a kaymak/clotted cream inspired dip which was just excellent!
Finally, the service was incredible. Lady at the front was so friendly, patient, and nice. This really makes all the difference and makes me so happy. It’s also rare these days to have such above and beyond service, she patiently and happily went through detailed descriptions of everything and helped me through as I kept changing my mind without the slightest hint of annoyance. It made me feel so welcomed and happy to be there.
Overall an excellent experience and I can’t wait to come back, and bring more people!!
