This restaurant fownst appear to know what it wants to be. Its decorated Italian, sort of. But still has small TVS with sports on. The night we were there there was 80s pop/rock playing. The tables were wobbly and the food could have come out of a box and did not feel authentic at all. It's in a great location between the Rogers center and Scotiabank Arena, and close to lots of hotels with reasonable prices for downtown Toronto. So depends what you like or what your looking for. I was hoping for more.

Food was amazing. Took awhile for the main course to arrive after our appetizer, but we'll worth the wait.
The service wasn't outstanding, just ok.
Overall, would definitely return.

Not my 1st visit, food quality definitely not what it was 2 years ago. We'd made plans to order appetizers and cocktails until we couldn't fit in anymore. Crab fritters were so fishy they were in-edible. Beet salad was overpoweringly sweet. Mercatto Bread - basil pesto and grana padano was great, polpete was as well. We decided not to order anything else. Went to e11even instead.

Lovely experience blending a comfortable but luxurious feel. The food was outstanding and the open air kitchen wafts the delicious scents of the food coming together. Very comfortable seating. The staff was lovely. I wish the wine prices were a little more reasonable. I realize it is downtown but still couldn't help but feel there is a better balance to be had. That being said I will of course be back again.

If I could give this place zero starts I would. Pizza is horrible and was very wet the cheese was not even melted. We had 3 different people serve us. One waiter came up to us and randomly said we have the table only till 5:30pm even though our original waitress never told us that. I would never come back here as I’m very upset with the service that I got tonight. Waste of money in my opinion and will not be coming back. But the Cesar salad was 10/10 I must say.

We stopped by after visiting Ripley’s Aquarium and couldn’t have picked a better spot. The two hostesses were so friendly and welcoming — they even played with my daughter in between serving guests (she couldn’t get enough of them!). Our server was absolutely wonderful, and the food was impeccable — every dish was perfectly prepared and delicious. Good service seems hard to come by these days, but this team absolutely nailed it. Management was on the floor the entire time, ensuring every guest was happy and well taken care of. We’ll definitely be back, and I’m already considering hosting future work events here. Highly recommend!

✨ Dinner at Taverna Mercatto ✨

I visited this restaurant after spending a bit of a night out and was immediately drawn in by how warm and inviting it looked from the street. The soft lighting, cozy design, and gentle background music created a relaxing atmosphere. It wasn’t too loud or crowded which made it perfect for an easy late dinner.

I started with the Shrimp Salad which looked beautiful and fresh, but it was a bit too spicy for my taste. My server noticed and kindly offered to replace it with another dish at no charge, which I really appreciated.

I switched to the Arctic Char and that dish completely made my night. The skin was perfectly crispy and cracked when I tapped it with my fork, and the fish underneath was soft and flaky. The sauce spread on the plate was delicious and I kept dipping each bite in it. The asparagus and other vegetables were cooked just right, still fresh and warm, and the dish smelled amazing.

Everything about it felt light, flavorful, and comforting. It’s one of those meals that makes you slow down and really enjoy each bite.

The service was attentive, the vibe was cozy, and the food felt fresh and thoughtfully made. I’d definitely come back to try another dish next time.

Very little selection, and very average pizza cost $25,00 seems too much with 13% tax and tip 18% on top, not worth the visit. One pizza pepperoni was so spicy that my kid couldn't eat it.

Not tellin mama about this one! Pasta was on point the bolognaise was bologna-yays and the pie would make Julia Robert’s weep.
