This was our second trip to the Ace and the food and service were very good. The seating arrangements are a bit cramped as it is a small space, but not a major issue. I asked if there were any daily specials and the server responded that the were not but the menu changed frequently. It was probably a year since we had been there and the menu looked virtually the same, not a big issue as there is decent selection but still a little variety would be a good thing.
Wonderfully personable, genuine and attentive service from Daniel. Delicious food with generous portions. We all order something different, and the 6 of us left stuffed and incredibly impressed.
Excellent restaurant. All the food was delicious. Only one quibble. One person in our party said her halibut dish was cold, even though it still tasted good. Don't expect a romantic environment. The place is diner style, but somehow it all works. Our whole party was very happy with each saying they would go back without hesitation.
I had a perfectly quaint birthday dinner on a Monday night. Everything from the drinks, to mains, to service was outstanding. Cannot recommend this place enough ❤️
Didn't seem like a Michelin star restaurant. Food was overcooked. Waitress was great but the waiter tried to take things away before I was finished ! Do not like being rushed.
Food was delicious! Staff were friendly. Make sure you have ample time. The restaurant was a little warm. I highly recommend.
We went to The Ace for Summerlicious and were completely blown away. The roasted chicken was hands down the best I've ever had. It was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and somehow reminded us of a cozy Christmas dinner. The King oyster mushrooms with the polenta, corn, and peas were rich and fresh all at once, super satisfying. But the real surprise was the heirloom tomato panzanella. The cucumbers tasted just like the ones we used to have from our parents' gardens when we were kids: super crisp and full of flavour. The vinaigrette tied everything together with the burrata and sourdough croutons. We usually skip salads, but this one? Not a drop left on the plate. Above all, the service was incredibly thoughtful. Every recommendation felt personal and spot-on. Even though it was the prix fixe Summerlicious menu, nothing felt phoned in. We already can't wait to go back.
Although this restaurant was rated as a Michelin star restaurant in 2024, the food was just OK. We went for summerlicious and had the Fix price menu. The appetizers were poor - I make a better tomato salad at home. The polenta dish was horrible, coming from a European family. The sticky pudding was good but not excellent. Terrible, would not recommend.
Duck confit on toast, huevos rancheros, and french toast were all delicious. Only complaint would be except for the two tables at the front the lighting in the restaurant is really dark and there were a few fruit flies around our table.

Fun place but too loud for us. Food was very good, but initially the fries were cold and had to be sent back.
We love The Ace and always have a wonderful time. We do miss the days of the pop-up sidewalk tables but the location makes up.for it, even if it means the place does not qualify for a street side patio. The food is always wonderful. We reserved for 6 in the hope that being the first to arrive would mean our drink orders would not get pushed down the queue, but we still ended up waiting for what felt like a while. But again, the location & atmosphere more than compensated for the wait. It turned out that our first choice of wine was sold out & we were cautioned that our second choice might be "funky", was 100% the case--but we cannot say we were not forewarned! It gave us a fun story & a new rule: however much you might like orange wine & adventure, Spain may not be the best combo. We had a lovely night & look forward to our next visit. Great service and fabulous food.
The ambiance is great, the service is great and the food is outstanding. We had a wonderful anniversary dinner with our family and will certainly be back.
Used to be one of my favourite places on Roncy but since it was sold the food quality is really inconsistent and even when it’s good it’s just not nearly as good as what it used to be, especially for the price point.
After searching all over Toronto for the best French toast, I finally found it at The Ace. The thick brioche is perfectly golden and custardy, topped with fresh berry compote, creamy cheese, and crushed pistachios that create an incredible sweet-tangy balance. Every element is executed flawlessly, and the service is outstanding. If you're a French toast lover, this is a must-try!
