Lovely nook on the east end of Toronto for brunch fare.
My friend and I met for a casual brunch catch up and were pleasantly surprised with this place.
I ordered me an avocado toast with smoked salmon. The toast is sourdough which I really appreciated. It’s not your usual avocado toast; there is balsamic glaze and pesto. I really like both balsamic glaze and pesto but I’m not sure it was matched well for this dish. Individually, these flavours are my favourite. Together they lend a hint of sweetness to the toast that I wasn’t a big fan of. A+ for presentation and creativity. Altogether not a bad meal for me but certainly not one to bring me back.
My friend enjoyed her shakshuka with poached eggs and side of sourdough bread. She also tried their green juice and English breakfast tea.
Good spot for a one time meal.
Our server was warm and attentive. N the vibe of the place was nice and relaxing, allowing for conversation to flow easily.
Overall a decent option to explore in the east end.

Very poor biz lunch for the two of us. Wait staff can walk by many times without taking an order, filling water, or even giving you menus. The place was almost empty! My colleague ordered a plain burger - the waiter even said - just bun, burger and ketchup - easy. He got a cheeseburger! I ordered avocado toast with smoked salmon (additional $7 fine). Smoked salmon was off badly. Exec chef ( nice guy) was walking by and so I told him about salmon. He said they are looking for a new supplier and that this salmon was just opened yesterday. I ate none of it, and they left it on the bill. I did not ask them to remove it. Not offered desert or coffee but we would have opted out. Suggest picking a different spot. Rooftop separate. This is the main floor bistro. Will not return.

Terrible. The room and the location are the only reasons why this place has any customers at all. The service is unprofessional and inconsistent, the food is passable but not great. They constantly screw up drink orders, and the last time I was there for brunch on a weekend, they let another customer bring a dog to their table - a violation of the health code.

Not good. Went for Sunday brunch. Place was understaffed and food was cold by the time it got to our table.
Stay away from the avacado toast. It was horrible.

Run, do not walk, to this place. I can’t believe I’ve lived across the street for three years without ever stopping by.

The food was incredible—I ordered the egg white omelette with salmon, which came with tater tots, a small salad, and a choice of brioche or sourdough (obviously, I went with the sourdough). The presentation was five-star, the taste was amazing, the meal was super clean (zero sugars), the portion size (especially the salmon) was generous, and the price? Unbelievably low ($19)?!

The only thing that might top the food is the service. My server, Dora, was incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely friendly. Even though she was handling five other tables, she took the time to explain the menu and made some brilliant recommendations (Earl Grey tea, sourdough bread, smoked salmon). Easily one of the best servers I’ve had in a long time.

If you try this place and don’t love it as much as I did, feel free to call me out on my review! Lol

Vegetarian options: Ample options for my vegan friends.

Dietary restrictions: PLENTY of sugar-free options for diabetics and dieting bodybuilders (like me). Lol

this place used to be amazing for breakfast but they recently changed their menu and removed the best things they had - very unfortunate

The food was absolutely amazing. I loved the dry aged burger. But the standout of the occasion was our server, Alex Reppin. He was super attentive and just brought great energy to the table. He also made hands down the best espresso martini I’ve ever had. Not sure what he did but wow. A truly 10/10 experience.

I look white but i am of a south asian descendant and i understand bengali and this server whose name is Masud, from my information, he made a bad comment about my appearance in bengali right after he took our food order I didn’t confront because i was with my friend. and he would also badmouth other guests which I heard. It’s terrible…
overall other staff were nice and friendly.
We tried the French toast which was super good.

Service was good. Noise level was conducive to conversation. I had a great salad that I wouldn't have chosen based on the description, but the wait staff recommended it. It was fantastic. Overall I found the weekday lunch menu was kind of boring. I hear the weekday brunch is fantastic. We didn't realize the menu is different on the weekdays.

Our server was great! She listened to our requests and made us feel special. And the cooks listened to our request and did not disappoint. We will be back. Loved the home fries too! Perfectly crispy :)

The broadview cafe is the one of my favourite places to go in Toronto! It's actually part of my morning routine - the ambiance, workers and overall culture is absolutely amazing. Quick service, amazing food, amazing staff. There's truly nothing bad I can say about this show place. Masud was my server and he's such a delight to be around, this guy is truly an amazing person and always knows how to make my girlfriend and I laugh. He's so great at his job. We recommend this to anyone and everyone ;)

We went for brunch and ordered:

• Breakfast Burger (I ordered the breakfast burger with a salad but put potatos instead. The burger itself was nice. Nothing special but tasted good. However, the potatos tasted like those old fries you had left cool down for some time and then reheated in an oven. They weren't crunchy at all.)

• Waffles and Chicken (the chicken was overfried. The crust wasn't crunchy at all but hard instead. The meat inside was completely dry. A cheap church chicken peace of fried chicken tastes x-times better for less money than what we were served here. The waffle was neither crunchy outside, nor soft and fluffy inside. Again, tasted like an old piece of waffle that had been reheated.)

Service: staff except for the one lady who seated us, were not accomodating, rather cold and mistook our orders. They didn't help to make this experience any better.

Environment: nice and bright, light-flooded environment. Table are rather close to each other, so if you have loud-speaking, over-confident neighbours, you won't be able to hear yourself think.

Overall, I don't recommend to try this place out, at least not for what we ordered. You can eat the same for less money elsewhere in the city and it will taste better for sure. Additionally, service is rather cold, so you better spend your money somewhere, staff are actually happy to welcoming you.

Service was absolutely awful. The waiter did not greet us just put the menu on the table and left, then took 20 minutes to come back and take our order. Took about an hour to get our food, the people who came in after us got the food faster than us and when we finally got our food it was bland and COLD!!

Awful experience, not worth the money or your time, would not recommend to come here if you’re looking for good food.

Only thing nice was the restaurants decor.
