Cosy, intimate, romantic spot for some excellent food. We especially loved how the atmosphere actually matches with the style and expectations of an upscale steakhouse like this.
Highly recommend the pistachio cake for dessert; we were at a loss for words for how good it was.

I’ve been planning this evening for a long time. A dinner like this is something my wife and I can only do on the rarest occasion, maybe once every handful of years, so I really wanted it to be special for us. The Butcher Chef delivered. The decor is intimate and the service is professional, but the 10-course tasting menu was the real highlight. We loved the explanation of each dish and the wine pairings. It was clear how much thought the kitchen and staff put into every detail, and sharing that experience really brought our family closer together. I’m very grateful for a wonderful evening.

Unfortunately our experience at The Butcher Chef didn’t meet our expectations. The pacing of our tasting menu felt rushed and there was miscommunication with the kitchen over a preference vs allergy on our dessert course which resulted in a disappointing modified menu which wasn’t verified with us ahead of time. Steak was delicious however, and our server did apologize and attempt to rectify the shortcomings. Overall, not worth the price.

A meal to remember!! We sat at the bar, Katya was the mixologist and the cocktails were next level. From start to finish the food was fabulous. The tuna, A5 poke appetizer topped with caviar was incredible.. we set the bar high and from there it was one delicious bite to the next. The whole roasted branzino was delicious, seasoned to perfection. If you’re a fan of squash, the side of squash we ordered was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The roasted mushrooms, truffle fries, the greens & herb salad were all fabulous. We ended with a blueberry cheesecake for dessett with a gorgeous presentation. The decor in the restaurant was edgy, eclectic and stunning. If you’re looking for a decadent night out, look no further. Worth every cent!! Thank you!

The attention to detail by the server was incredible. Very warm greeting upon arrival, even though we were early. This was our best dining experience ever, and we've been to quite a few nice places in Toronto. We had the 11 course tasting menu. Every bite was a unique explosion of flavour from fresh and zesty to warm and rich. Seafood, rabbit, caviar, ceviche, wagu beef, beet salad, truffle sauce, squash... ALL of it was a culinary adventure. Expensive, but well worth the money, if you appreciate true authentic flavors. My husband's brown butter old fashioned cocktail was out of this world. The sommelier was helpful in recommending a glass of wine to suit the beginning and end of our culinary adventure. We will be back to try the a la carte menu and dive deeper into a carnivorous experience! Well done, The Butcher's Chef. You were the perfect restaurant for our 35th wedding anniversary.

There are a number of excellent steakhouses/restaurants in Toronto.
I'd say about 5.
This experience, I'll say comes in at number 1.
This is not a place to sit and eat. This is an experience.
Customer experience: excellent
Service: excellent
And lastly or perhaps firstly:
The meal: I've had the privilege and luck to have eaten at some of the best steak houses/restaurants in the Alpha cities on this planet. This experience is right at the top.
Quite possibly one of the best steaks I've ever had.
Enjoy the meal
Enjoy the amazingly good wine selection
Don't look at prices, you're here to enjoy life at it most simple and extravagant at the same time.
Thank you for the meal.
Much appreciated

8pm Reso- seated at 8:30pm, was told my wife and I could wait at the bar (only one seat available). I understand delays can happen but no effort from the restaurant was made to at least acknowledge our wait with an handshake and apology until I complained 25mins into waiting.
Restaurant itself felt crowded, and I had to almost yell to have a conversation with my wife.
Food was okay, good steakhouse but nothing stood out.
I’d still recommend Harbour 60 for a better overall experience.

Ceviche had a few bites of a bitter flavour of a fish that has gone bad. For a dish that's typically made with sole or white fish that has a more neutral flavour, makes me question if they used old, rancid or contaminated fish. Bad impression for the item to start for the night. Steak was great, perfectly done medium rare. Great ambience, however, music so loud that I had to yell to be heard. Can clearly hear others effortfully yelling when communicating as well. Made it difficult to take my time and enjoy socializing while eating. What was simply unacceptable was that our server had a pungently strong body odour, while having an awful breath. This was simply disgusting, given that I was served steak by this individual. Unfortunately, that was made me apprehensive about eating an otherwise good steak. And to make matters worse, both servers had a distinct body odour. It would be nice to simply not have to smell my servers body and breath odour. Would appreciate good hygiene and a neutral one. The ceviche had a noticeable bitter/off taste in a few bites, which was unexpected and concerning for a dish that usually features fresh, mild white fish. It left me wondering about the freshness of the ingredients and unfortunately set a disappointing tone for the meal. The steak, on the other hand, was excellent—perfectly cooked medium-rare and very enjoyable. The ambience is lovely overall, but the music volume was extremely high. We had to raise our voices significantly to converse, and it was clear other tables were doing the same. It made it challenging to relax and enjoy the evening at a comfortable pace. One area that really impacted the experience was the strong body odor and noticeable breath odor from both servers who interacted with our table and handled our food. While the food itself was good, the persistent odors made it difficult to fully enjoy the meal and left us feeling uncomfortable. We would greatly appreciate higher standards of personal hygiene from staff
Everything was perfect!

Came here twice while in town for a training. Excellent service and food. Enjoyed the beet salad and myasazki waygu. Will return when back in Toronto!
One of the best restaurants in Toronto. The food, the vibes, and the amazing staff really make the time spent there an unforgettable experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five-Star Review for Butchers Chef Butchers Chef is truly exceptional from start to finish. The moment you walk in, you're welcomed into a warm, upscale atmosphere that feels both inviting and refined. The service is absolutely outstanding — attentive, seamless, and genuinely caring. The food is nothing short of phenomenal. Every dish is prepared to absolute perfection, showcasing both premium ingredients and remarkable culinary skill. You can truly taste the passion in every bite. Owner Michael is incredibly attentive and ensures every guest feels valued and well taken care of. His presence elevates the entire dining experience and speaks volumes about the pride he takes in his restaurant. If you're looking for an unforgettable meal paired with exceptional service in a beautiful setting, Butchers Chef is a must-visit. Highly, highly recommended!
We visited this weekend with mixed feeling which we feel could've been easily avoided. It’s a small venue, maybe 10 to 20 tables, which usually creates a nice intimate atmosphere, but the service ended up undermining the experience.
The most surprising part was that the servers refused to place the steaks on the table. We asked for the cuts to be set down in the middle so we could serve ourselves, and they wouldn’t do it. Instead, they insisted on portioning out “equal” amounts onto each of our plates. The issue is that none of us eat the same amount or prefer the same cuts, and half the enjoyment of a shared steak experience is the presentation, seeing the cuts laid out in the middle and choosing what you want.
Plate the appetizers and leave the steaks for us to pick, I couldn’t go back for more of the cut I liked, and I had to watch others leave pieces they didn’t want on their plates. It was awkward and honestly took away from the whole point of ordering shared steaks.
Our initial server was fantastic and gave great recommendations, but the team that came out to serve the steaks really soured the experience, especially a younger server with spiked hair who kept insisting on plating everything for us and telling his colleagues to plate it for us. If there isn’t enough room for proper presentation, it should be communicated, not forced onto our plates.
Overall, the food itself was solid, but the serving approach and lack of presentation took away from what could have been a great night.

My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary at The Butcher a Chef and we were nothing short of amazed at the experience we had. From our server, Rob, and his informative advice on the menu, to the quiet ambiance, and the quality of food, we were blown away. We were given an amuse bouche to start off our meal, a complimentary dish between our appetizer and main course and then a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary (their table side blueberry cheesecake prepared with nitrogen was phenomenal). The quality of every dish and attention to detail was beyond our expectations. We both love trying new restaurants and we both agreed this was arguably the top experience we have had yet and will be back very soon.
