The soup was delightful. The sauerkraut was amazing. The pork belly was well cooked. The carrots were too hard to cut with a knife so I ate them like snacks. The lemon dessert was divine. I only expected a softer crust, so I ended up eating it like a biscuit. Beautiful presentation. My companion thought the young waiter was a tad over zealous. We both found the receptionist/cashier to be off-handed, not welcoming. But it is not important when attending a student restaurant. Seeing the cooks perform was wonderful. May they have great successes.

I've walked by The Chef's House and always wondered what it was like. Yesterday I stopped walking past an went in. I was very pleasantly surprised by what I found. The lunch I ordered was delicious. Not a generous serving, but it was definitely appreciated. Our server was very nice, as was everyone there. I'm definitely going to return for another lunch!

Giving 5 stars for everything seems over the top but I think it's justified. It is busy so not for a quiet dinner but so much to see. Staff were friendly. And the food was great. I am a mushroom lover and they piled on the porcinis. If course it is students so asking tough questions -where do you source your mushrooms - did not get an answer. Fair enough. Loved the tv screen so we could watch prep. A play by play announcer ? ; )

The food and service was amazing for sure well balanced plates that were portioned well. I would have enjoyed some more experimental plates to push the edges a bit but the flavours were excellent and plating was beautiful

Had an amazing time at "The Chefs' House"! We grabbed seats at the bar and got totally sucked into watching the kitchen hustle – it's like live food TV but better. The service was spot-on. They were there when you needed them without hovering too much. And the food, oh the food, it tasted as good as it looked, which says a lot because it was pretty stunning. Definitely check this place out if you're into seeing how your food is made and want to eat something that's as much a treat for your eyes as for your taste buds.

Had a great meal here on Valentines Day. This is part of George Brown college ( so staffed by students) but the food is top notch. Very reasonable prices as well. Service was very attentive. We had the - Sunchoke soup - Smoked salmon Appetizer - Beef short rib on polenta - Sea Bream with Fondant Potatoes - Chocolate Creme Brûlée - Meyer Lemon tart. Very reasonable wines on offer - many from Ontario wineries. Meal was fantastic. The short rib in particular was a big hit. Note that Meyer lemon is not so tart as usual lemon. It was good but I prefer normal lemon. Love the modern vibe of the restaurant. They really look for feedback from their patrons. Tips all go toward student bursaries and support.

I would recommend for Winterlicious as it was nice to try for the price of $35 for three courses. It is a unique experience seeing the students at work and trying new things, although overall it was not extraordinary food. Food - Some items were outstanding such as the complementary bread and the soup appetizer. The main dishes we tried were the falafel dish and the sea bass dish - both were good although nothing extraordinary. The desserts were a hit or miss - some were good, others we didn't like. The appetizers were good but nothing special. Overall the portion size was small and you may leave hungry. 1 pt dock in rating is because after a 3 course dinner, I was hungry in about an hour. Ambiance - I liked being able to view the chefs at work, it was a cool experience. Service - our server was really nice, although we did wait 45 minutes before getting our dessert and tables who ordered after us got their desserts first.

It was an amazing experience. My nephew was working the dessert station, Connor and Jamie our server was excellent. Both were so knowledgeable about the ingredients and the structure of the food. Loved it!

The staff was very attentive, which is such a nice change in restaurants these days!. The food was beautifully presented - the sunchoke soup was like a painters canvas, as well as being very tasty. Overall, we had a wonderful lunch here!

Excellent service from Jonathan, warm and attentive and made us feel that we were the only ones there! Delicious food especially the fish entree, flavourful and without a lot of starchy carbs.

What a great concept, to have students run a restaurant. Bring on delicious food with a lower price tag because this gives students a chance to work in the kitchen and on the floor! I'm in on giving students experience and in for cheap foods =). Came here for the winterlicious menu and might come back for more another time! Malt Glazed Smoked Salmon - Felt like a deconstructed smoked salmon bagel. Crème fresh - cream cheese, cracker - bagel, smoked salmon - well smoked salmon. All in all was presented well and tasty! Chicken Pibil - Felt like a deconstructed taco, please refer to pictures. Chicken was friggin delicious, super flavourful and tender. Meyer Lemon Tart - Felt like a typical lemon tart. A little too delicate on the flavours ie. Kumquats could be candied more. Meringue could have more bergamot aroma. In all, lots of room for improvement. But at the same time, the experience was great! Service was fast and nice. They also gave us two types of bread, wished the focaccia was a more bouncy, but it smelled heavenly. The churned butter was okay, but felt like they could have done more to it. Would come back again to try another menu.

Our group of five enjoyed the Winterlicious lunch at The Chef's House. We absolutely enjoyed the delicious meals and served by gracious servers from the rolls, appetizers, main entre, and dessert. We celebrated a birthday and she was surprised to be presented with her lemon tart with Happy Birthday in chocolate script on a dinner plate with a candle. Thank you for the special touch.

Please visit! The service was top notch and the food presentation artful and delicious. Our server, Jamie, provided good recommendations for a wine pairing with my meal while my partner enjoyed the selection of cocktails. This restaurant can easily compete with any of Toronto's elite restaurants but the pricing matches your local family spot.

A lovely experience. Great value, very good food and attentive ( perhaps a little too attentive) service. It has to be taken into consideration that these are students in training. The sincerity and effort is charming. We will definitely be back when the menu changes. Highly recommended.

From the moment we walked in to be greeted by Ainsley & Jamie who presented as front door and as our server they both reflected the establishment in the best possible light. The soundtrack was eclectic and very good. The food and time to be served ten out of ten. We shall spread the word.
