Beautiful place, and it was a great service all around, but the food was a little short of what we expected. Especially the desert; both the selection, and the taste.

This place is special. I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 6 years and this was my first time here. Food was very good and very reasonably priced. They really care to treat you to a good time. Plus a martini is only $10!

My partner and myself have been to Chef's House a several times, and never been disappointed. Today we introduced our friend, and we are happy that she had a great experience, and enjoyed the delicious and flavorful menu.
Amazing service! All students working their hardest, doing their best. Our server, Abdul, was very attentive, polite and friendly. We really enjoyed his service!
Complimentary to the chef that made Port Wine Poached Pear! Our friend loved so much the dessert, and she ordered second portion of Port Wine Poached Pear. My friend and I planning to come back next month to be our Christmas celebration.
Big thank you to the Hospitality Manager! I am sorry, we missed his name.

I have been to the Chef's House a few times before but this visit was extremely disappointing. I had to send my first course back because it was not eatable. Both main courses we ordered were lukewarm. The dessert was a deconstructed Black Forest Cake that was dry and tasteless. In the past it was a fixed price menu so a good value. One of our mains was $26 and definitely not worth that price.

I attended the Chefs house for a dinner in conjunction with Big head winery and I must say I was blown away by the food and service provided by these young people. I had heard George browns culinary program was excellent but I had no idea the advanced techniques this next generation of chefs were learning. I was very impressed all the food was excellent and well prepared. The temperatures and textures of each dish were perfect. I’ve eaten in many high end places and the chef house delivered a meal as good as any that I’ve had in terms of technique and preparation. I expected to see at least a broken sauce or two from the students but they were on point that evening. The service delivered by the students was also excellent

This was a very impressive experience and understanding the concept of training new staff in an upscale environment was very comforting as it establishes the need for patience right up front. All of the staff were very attentive and the food was exceptionally prepared and presented. I will definitely return for another meal.

Great service, small details to improve in the food taste and spice. A better wine by glass options would be appreciated. Overall good price performance especially considering the purpose of the restaurant. Definitely keep coming back for the new recipes.

A lovely evening spent at with friends for our fist visit to the Chefs' House. I loved the fact that everyone working there was either in training or mentoring others in their new careers, be it chefs or servers. Considering this, I thought the service was very good - our server had knowledge of most of the dishes and the wine and was attentive without being overly so. The food was all great and presented beautifully - I had the sea bass and it was cooked really well. Good value for money for the quality of the food. As long as you are here to support these young people in their new careers, while enjoying good food, you will not be disappointed.

A very charming experience overall. The food was lovely, nicely presented, service exceptionally attentive, great atmosphere. Was it the perfect execution? Of course not, but the effort and care from everyone there certainly was. I'd be happy to come back anytime, plenty of intriguing options on the menu, and they all cared that we enjoyed ourselves and had a great experience.

Vegetarian options: There are options for vegetarians and pescatarians. I did not ask about vegan options.

We were there for dinner. You have to be aware that this is a restaurant run by trainees. So you should be able to ignore small mistakes.

On our evening there was a relatively fresh service team at the start. You could tell by the uncertainty. But they did an almost perfect job. It was more about a lack of self-confidence and not about inability. The students will certainly achieve this security quickly. They can do it? just a little more self-confidence.

As for the food itself: excellent! For starters we had the tartare. Perfectly seasoned and prepared like in a Michelin star restaurant. For the main course we had lamb and duck. Both prepared perfectly. The lentils as a side dish were also on point. So not mushy and not hard, perfectly cooked as it needs to be. The meat was perfect. And here too the plates were beautifully prepared. The dessert was also excellent. I chose the pumpkin cheesecake. A poem.

The ambience is very nicely designed. I was lucky and got a table with a view of the kitchen.

The price-performance ratio? Too good. It's very cheap. Well, they don't really have to make a profit, but I still found it very cheap. I was happy to leave a tip. This is then paid into a fund for the students.

Would I go again? In any case! Next time I'm in Toronto I'll plan a visit to this restaurant.

Very charming experience! The food was overall very good, excellent presentation, service was very attentive from front of house greeting through until check out. Was everything executed perfectly? Of course not, it's all students who prepare and serve your food, and it was the first day altogether for the team on my visit, I was the first client for those that served me. What I appreciate most is that everyone cared that you were enjoying your experience, and were well looked after. They welcome feedback as well, they strive to improve every day, and it is a place I would be very happy to come dine in again. Very reasonable prices, great ambience, service and you will be well fed.

The students from George Brown culinary program run the restaurant. Food and service was very good. Love the open kitchen. Can't wait to go back.

Like a European atmosphere. Rather quiet restaurant. We can talk without shouting at each other but there is enough music that we can't hear the other tables.
The cuisine is delicious. And the service is very good too.
You can find cocktails like in France like the Kir royale.
