Can we come inside again please? This lineup on Bloor is really getting old. Super slow service. Coffee tastes like cardboard. Great treats though
Note to everybody: this place is now a sad, sidewalk, takeout joint only! Owners pay the rent and utilities for a large space (Bloor West, imagine the rent?) that you see through the large, front, pane glass window, which is now shuttered and dark.A few years back, I used to be a regular here, before moving out of province. Visiting Toronto with family, was glad to find The Common still on the map, looked forward to sitting down Saturday morning for a good coffee and croissant in what used to be a lively, friendly, local gathering spot. No more. Now it is nothing but a utilitarian outpost. Seems they switched to takeout for Covid but never went back. How sad and depressing.
What a bummer. I used to love this place. So disappointing to see that in April 2023 - 3 years on!!!!!!!! - they're just doing coffee through a little hole in plexiglass. Would be helpful to update info to show that there's nowhere to sit at all, indoors or out.
Anyone know why this place still not open for indoor seating? Can't be due to covid since I can't think of any other coffee shop that hasn't reverted back to regular pre-covid practices by now. Also, Google page says open for dine-in and pick-up.
Got two croissants the other day and was super disappointed, they both tasted old (1-2 days old) and the plain croissant wasn't flaky at all :(
One of the best coffee shops in the neighbourhood, you can always rely on the Common. Only downside in my opinion is that they haven’t opened up their indoor space as of yet but when it does I’ll be there
The coffee and pastries are great but the service is not. I’ve come here a few times and there’s always a line, the staff were not welcoming, and on several occasions I was given a leaking/broken cup.
This place really needs to open up the indoor space and be quicker with service. It’s not very welcoming with just the window and staff are incredibly slow, I love the product but damn.
Oh awesome! Very good coffee and nice people who serve you! I love the sidewalk window to order your treats and whatnot!! ??
Hell yes. One of the most consistent coffee shops in the west end. Amazing price for an americano and some great snacks. Just a solid experience all around.

nice coffee brewed really well (cappuccino) at one of the more affordable prices I have come across, and lovely staff behind the counter.
Very tasty pastries, although you usually need to get there earlier in the day if you want a variety of options, especially on the weekends. If you do go on a weekend, expect to wait in a line outside for a while; well worth it though!
the best coffee! excellent selection of baked goods as well - croissants, scones, cookies and even breakfast sandwiches from donnas on landsdowne
The Common is so good that locals line up outside; they're baked goods are that amazing! They also make a great cup of coffee. Service is top notch and friendly.
Not only cashless service but speechless too.. not a hello, didnt even ask what I wanted, didnt say thanks or bye... used to be friendlier for sure. With so many around, no need to go back and I wont
