I drove 20 minutes for these cupcakes because they look so good and the reviews were decent but honestly they’re wayyyy too sweet unfortunately. The coconut and red velvet cupcakes were the only ones that were yummy and not super sweet. Cake is moist and soft. The frosting is just too sweet for my liking and I love sweet things. Very cute shop and presentation. $27 for six cupcakes.
Bit more expensive than other cupcake shops I’ve tried, but on the sweeter side - too sweet for me and my family. Probably won’t be having this again. Raspberry also tasted very artificial or almost expired.
We had ordered vegan cupcakes for our granddaughter’s birthday… the cupcakes left a tingling sensation aftertaste… we presume caused by too much baking powder/soda bicarbonate. As a result the order was disappointing and I regretted not ordering from a vegan bakery…
Sorry to give a disappointing review. I presume it’s becausre of the vegan order.

EDIT: Since I've had a chance to calm down and the owner has reached out to me to explain what happened I'm updating my review. The cupcakes I did receive were delicious, even if they did not satisfy my craving. Stuff happens and I'm sure managing food app deliveries can be stressful for a small business.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I placed an order via Skip the Dishes because I'm pregnant and craving vanilla buttercream cupcakes. Of the 6 cupcakes I ordered, the two vanilla buttercream were out of stock, and instead of being contacted to choose alternate options, the business subbed for me, left me an I'm sorry note, but didn't tell me what they had subbed with. I'm so disappointed. Never taking a chance on a craving again. I'm weary of trying the ones they subbed since I don't know what they are, but the raspberry, and strawberry flavour options were ok.

I ordered delicious cupcakes for my birthday, and I was not disappointed! The cupcakes were moist, flavorful, fresh, and beautifully decorated. I was delighted to receive them with a handwritten note confirming they were nut-free, making them safe to enjoy. Highly recommended!

Sorry to say that, a 6" cake that we purchased recently (Mar 2024), from The Cupcake Shoppe at 2587 Yonge St was totally underwhelming. We initially stopped in to TCS to satisfy a drive-by cupcake craving as the shop was very inviting inside and out and there was available parking in front. Staff were also friendly. However, the cupcakes didn't impress. But, as I was purchasing them I noticed a stunning rose decorated cake on display, made a short inquiry and placed an order for the same but in lemon flavoured yellow. Later, by phone when confirming the order I addressed numerous google review concerns re dryness, cake texture etc with a staff member and was told that this was usually due to customers storing them in the fridge which, we didn't. In any case the pink rose cake was so spectacular looking I placed the order a couple of days later anyway. Sadly, we were disappointed. The dryness that many reviews speak of is definitely relevant. The overall flavour is also lacking. Won't be returning.

Been coming here for years (like a decade) and it feels like the quality is declining, while the price keeps going up. The cupcakes used to be super high quality and had a super moist, fluffy, medium crumb, with not too sweet icing that was flavourful and appeared to use actual fruit. The last few times I’ve been over the past few years, the cupcakes are overly sweet, with a dry fine crumb, and sweet, flavourless, almost gritty icing. I don’t know if the ingredients or recipe have changed but it’s been a let down every time.

We've been eating their cupcakes since we were teens! And now my sister has had her baby shower cake and cupcakes from the shoppe and her daughtet's first birthday cake and cupcakes! Always the very best. The customer service too is as pretty and delicious as their products! Special shout to Sam.
