The atmosphere was nice, but overall, it was a bad experience. This isn’t my first time here, but the blonde server has been rude every single time. Our waitress, a brunette with glasses, was friendly, but the blonde girl was extremely rude and unprofessional. She rushed everything, forgot our drinks, and grabbed the menu from the table without saying a word, even though we hadn’t ordered yet. The cocktails were disappointing—small portions considering the price, which just didn’t seem right. The wine selection is mediocre, and on top of that, there’s a $30 fee for any wine you choose, which is outrageous.

MAKE SURE TO KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS!! I have been to the daughter numerous times, Sometimes to simply buy wine and sometimes to sit, eat and enjoy different natural wines with friends. However, today, I was extremely disappointed with the service I received. I was returning a bottle I Purchased quite some time ago that was not good. I did not have a receipt as It was not a recent purchase. I was Immediately met with a lot of attitude and rudeness. I did not ask for a refund all I wanted was a replacement. Now this is not my first encounter with this person and she has been rude each interaction, even dismissive on one occasion to my friends and I while asking her questions. I do love the daughter and will continue to be a customer, but I sincerely hope action is taken in regards to the attitude problem.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Daughter. Lauren was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable of the wine list and the menu. We loved everything we ordered and wished we had room left to try some of the other food items. We will be back for sure!

Visiting from Vancouver, my sister who lives up the street loves this place and now so do I. Staff are excellent - especially Rachael (sp?) who is just super cool - and obviously the wine is great but we had a really excellent dinner. The food is “traditional” in description but prepared and plated in a unique and fun way you don’t expect. Check out their Caesar Salad for sure. Hats off to the culinary team, really very good! Highly recommend and next time I’m in TO I’ll be back for sure!
